Now that I've dealt with the mid-year exams, I'm able to catch up :) At 32:46 (and at the start of round 2) you pointed at the birds with specific nest type and eggs section rather than the "birds in one row" section of the player aid. They both give the same base value, so it doesn't change the outcome. As a purely tactical matter, for your final turn of the game, rather than playing the bird directly, you could have taken the eggs action, letting you trigger the round-end bird and play that card that way - if you discarded one of your two spare food, that would have been worth 3 extra points, and meant you only lost by 1 point...

Are u gonna get Oceania Expansion? I like the idea of more bird cards of course but truthfully the base game + European Expansion are awesome by themselves.

I have it! I still haven't played it...... I'm kind of sad/annoyed that I know that it won't fit in the base box...... I've also heard a lot of rumblings that not everyone loves everything from the Oceana expansion, so I'm not convinced I want to mix it all together yet....

Thank you so much!!! I got them both at Walmart! The one for the food-tokens was over by the tackle boxes in the hunting and fishing supply isle. The one I use for the eggs is a crayon box over by their office supplies. Both super cheap and useful. I always have extras on hand to sort lots of games.....

Great video. But actually you lost :) Your score from your eggs is 0, not 6. Also "Draw Cards" action says to draw a face-down bird card from the bird deck after discarding all 3 face-up cards.

Oh my gosh... my hand writing is THAT bad. You are so right about the eggs! 😂😂😂 How embarrassing. In terms of the “draw cards” action, you might need to clarify what you’re saying... are you saying that if I (the player) take the draw cards action that I couldn’t draw from the three face-up cards? I could be wrong, but that definitely doesn’t sound right to me. Isn’t the point of face-up cards to give you options of birds you could select?

@@TomTeachesGames 😁😁 in terms of the draw cards action, I mean the draw cards action of the automa. When automa does the draw cards action (one with the symbol of the back of the bird cards), the rulebook states that, first you need to discard all three face-up cards from the tray, then you need to take the first face-down card from the bird deck for automa without looking. This doesn't change the scoring but when you don't know what automa collects, it adds some tension to the game. I hope I could explain this time 😁

@@sabunluk24 It's a moot point whether a given card you never get to see is face-down in front of the Automa, or face-down at the bottom of the draw pile, so it really doesn't make any difference to the game. On the other hand, because humans are humans, it can feel different - that the card in front of them is one you would have got rather than the card on the bottom of the deck that you were never going to get...
