Just got this game. Got lost playing the tutorial and even the Rodney video wasn't enough to make things click. Your Root series (and all you videos) is the best at teaching how to play the game. Very straight forward and your delivery is stress reducing. Thanks for making these.

Heu nice and good video. Thanks. Did I got the rules right what if you fight a villain with a hero capture you will have this Hero in your deck after the villain dies?

5 years late, but at 1:16 (and many other times) you can only control a region if you visit or will visit. Here you just rested. So probably would've resulted in more turns and different points. But it's all about the fun though 😁

So just got knights of Avalon pledge and grateful for this to help sort and get going as it is overwhelming! So thanks! Question. The pledge came with item promo cards, they are for sets of items. How do these come into play and where would you store them?

Thanks for making this video. I've never played before. This weekend will be my first time. But it seems to me you didn't really utilize the "make noise" action enough to redirect zombies. That could have probably saved you.

These guys still confuse the hell out of me although your video has really helped. I think i just need to experiment with them so i can internalize the rules. Man i wish i knew more people who were into this game!

I just played a game with that -4 victory point card and it pulled so much progress back for everyone on the table. Its worse when they combo it with other cards to charge it every time its their turn. Effectively -4 points every round.

The green 009 card you need to keep in satchel, you can hold 3 green hands. And exchange it with the other 009 card on the map.

Thank you SO MUCH for this video. I recently got this exact version of the game (unpainted miniatures, though) and I find it a bit of a slog to go through the rulebook for setting up. This helps a lot for someone like me who can get overwhelmed with a lot of text.

I really appreciate how creative and fun this unofficial solo variant is. Easy setup and play, and the simple adaptability for difficulty level will be great, if I ever need to ramp up. Right now I beat the bot 50% on average difficulty set up. I’m enjoying playing three people all by myself: one’s goal is defense/resources, two’s goal is hunting, three is the bot. Usually defense/resource gathering is my strongest system, but it is lots of fun winning with hunting, when I can! With all the various scenarios, this game never gets boring! I’m in my 70’s and my lady’s game day doesn’t often include my complex games, so it is rare for me to play EofD with others, but I have a blast! Thanks so much for this! (The official solo version was overly complex and boring.)

i followed your video and used and printed out your card system when tainted grail came out. I recently received my One true king pledge that includes an updated version of the game and am using this video again. Although kings of ruin is much easier to sort. so thanks again.

Thank you for your wonderful playthrough. I have been looking for a great playthrough to understand Whistle Mountain. I have a much better understanding on how moving up the tower works. Initially I was moving it just one square not to the next level. It's been several years since you've uploaded, are you still enjoying it? I got all excited with the red players combos. That's definitely my favorite part. As I have been trying to learn I wasn't seeing the combination. I was just seeing the straight actions. I got Whislte Mountain for Christmas because I am a gigantic Luke Laurie fan. Anyhow, thanks again for taking the time.

Do Lizards follow the general “‘move rule” (needs to rule the origin clearing or the destination clearing) or does the “crusade” overwrites the “move” rule and allows you to be able to move even if you do not rule the clearing of origin or destination?

I wonder why they didn't just say your whole party fights the monster but only the lowest numbered one takes any damage/fatigue (ie. chooses to take one for the team).

Thanks Tom for all the effort!. A few Questions - are you still playing the game and this variant and done any changes? another one, when you add an advancement to a card, do you immediately get to do the action? i don't think i've seen you do it (other then in the prolog). I'm an avid solo player, and the game should arrive to me in a few days, but i almost seen no positive reviews on the original solo mode, so this is of great interest to me :)
