One of the most powerful moments in cinema (for me) was the scene in '42' (Chadwick Boseman as Jackie Robinson) in which an innocent boy is sitting in the stands enjoying the baseball game with his daddy, but then daddy and the other spectators start yelling angrily at Robinson and shouting racial slurs, and you see the boy observing his dad with confusion and concern at first, then slowly morph into thinking this is an acceptable way to behave simply because daddy is doing it and he loves his daddy. Simply hearbreaking. The power and responsibility of parenthood.

Love this video. This is exactly how I feel. I also feel the way you raise your kids. My father was a pastor for a black church in SC and he is white. All his supposed "friends" when he took that job could not understand why he would do that. He heard comments saying stick with your own race. But my Father told them we are all created equal in God's eyes and a human should never judge another human based on the pigment of their skin. I grew up in a household where we were taught to love those around us no matter what they looked like.
@kelleybutler9720
@kelleybutler9720 5 жыл бұрын
Greg Palenschat You were raised by very wise parents/family because I was blessed to be brought up with great parents as well. I was raised to see everyone as a human being and to never judge anyone by their skin color only judge people by their character and behavior as a human being. I was raised by both my white parents, family and by our black American friends and neighbors but to me they were just Americans no color comment required or expected. The most important person in my life and the biggest inspiration and bright light in my life was Ms. Burma a beautiful black lady that also raised me and we were friends with her children and grandchildren, now our children are friends. She was the one that taught me the most about judging people individually by their character, behavior and if they were disrespectful towards others, I learned a long time ago skin color is only the shade of pigments the Good Lord gave each and everyone of us at birth and no color is better than the other! She whooped my lil white bottom😂😂😂(a few times but I deserved it) and I knew to respect and obey her just as I obeyed my parents, grandparents or any other adult with authority. Nowadays that’s missing I think most children don’t learn those vital and important lessons, because to much authority has been taken away from parents and some parents act like they just don’t care to even try to raise their children properly. It’s strange and sad how in some places whites and blacks don’t speak to each other because of the garbage and lies that are feed to them by the media and Hollywood movie and music machines. Believe me the artist have little say so or their so brainwashed by the collective behavior of thinking alike, you can’t truly know where the words their saying come from or who there really coming from anymore. I’m proud that I still have my friends of all colors and again we just look at each other as Americans and friends that take care of one another. That’s why I like Tim MacDonalds music Becca he’s the real deal and his words and thoughts are his own, same with Ryan UPCHURCH, Katie Noel the country rappers or heck just rappers but their not racist and their real and won’t sign with any label and have turned down deals because they won’t be censored from telling the truth, also the are God fearing people and the let it be known and that’s something that the music industry does like. Unless it’s a Gospel Album and is labeled as such, it’s all so sad and scary too! So SORRY 😐 for the NOVEL of a text but your words and Tom MacDonald’s words inspired me and I couldn’t stop. Thanks 🙏🏼 for reading if your able and I understand if not. Much Love, Peace, Kindness and God’s Blessings for You and Yours!! Please forgive any grammatical errors because I’ve got to have an eye exam and a pair of new prescription glasses 👓 like stat or yesterday!!

@@csimes988 A lot of kids spend more time in school than they do at home. 6-7 hours at school, 8 hours of sleep, that's about 9 hours awake not at school and some of that is either hanging with friends or playing video games. Not to mention kids whose parents work late shifts. Especially nowadays you hear story after story of whites going through this lesson or males going through that lesson. Having decent humans being as parents helps, but even some of their kids end up towing the line of leftism and identity politics once they hit high school and college.

This is the song that I found Tom. I have been writing a family history book for about 4 years. If you look up Robert Parker, he bought the first slave from a black man (the man's name escapes me atm) Robert Parker is my ancestor. My great great grandfather and his brother was in the civil war. One fought for the north the other the south. They was drafted! The point in this bit of information I'm sharing because I actually had my own 21 year old son tell me to my face that I am white privileged. I have been homeless, I have been on public assistance because I was a single mother with a child who has autism and no day cares would take him because he is violent. My father is Mexican. My mother is white. My sons father is white. His girlfriend is full blood Mexican. Because of the small amount of my dads bloodline in him and because of his girlfriends race I was targeted for being white. It didn't last long. I educated them both very quickly. This race thing is hurting all races. And this breaks my very spirit. We all bleed red, we all die and rest in a box at the end of our days. We need to spread more love than hate. This is where I found Tom. From this song I got to the point I know all his music. He speaks loud and clear. I just wish people would hear him. Love grows gardens. Hate brings wild fires. Love each other. ✌❤

So I'm Casper's body double white (Irish-American), my husband is mostly Italian decent. So our oldest son (8) is a light olive completion with black hair and green eyes. And my favorite picture of him is with his 2 best friends. 1 is Latino and the other is black. And when I look at that picture all I see is beauty. I'm 40 years old and in those short number of years I've seen a dramatic change, not just in what people say but how they act. I grew up in a house with a bigot step-father and we went toe to toe every other day for the shit he said. That man busted my ass. He broke more bones in 10 years than most people have in their entire lives 3x over. I NEVER backed down. I was jumped this summer. 4 on 1 and I am not a big person. My heart shattered. Labeled racist and privileged. My crime? Melatonin deficiency. Hell, I can't even tan. In 40 years its gone from 1 side to the other and it breaks my heart. Because its all hate, no matter who is doing it. I agree with Tom. I will NEVER teach my kids to see a difference in color and I will NEVER teach them to be ashamed because of theirs. facts I was raised in a house where that degrading Word that starts with a N was never said. Now this is a true story I was in 2nd grade when I first ever heard that word In mother F#$king school of all places. and I heard this white kid saying it to a kid with melanin in his skin and I didn't understand it because the kid saying it you could tell there was hate behind it his face changed and the kid he said it to never bothered nobody and was smart as hell, so it stuck with me till I got home and I asked my father, dad what does ###### mean, instantly I was met with a smack then a response Where did you hear that, I told him at school today. he then said WE never use that word at this house or ever in life. see my father grew up in the street was the bread winner at age 10 no bullshit with 9 bothers and sisters , doing everything from shining shoes and running number for the Sharks he was a hustler but he had to be, growing up in a very low income housing the Taylor building projects building 1, 12th floor then to the Hearns building projects in Upstate New York the capital district TROY, and Albany NY and in the 60's and 70's. he used to tell me that growing up every single friend he had was black there was never a question to skin color because they were all in the same "Class" of people POOR and he was always thankful for growing up the way he did to never judge a person by the color of there skin his best friend my GODFATHER is black and when my father passed away in 2016 GEO was by his side but he would always say when I was growing up don't judge anyone but if you do base it off there character how they are as a HUMAN BEING. and till this day I instill that into my children never look at someone different regardless of color, sexual preference, religion, or disability. because your absolutely right a child comes into this world innocent, free from hate it's taught to them as a baby and like a sponge that child sucks it up

I was raised in a racist family. Not all of them but a bunch of my family was racist. I didn't truly learn that all I was told was a lie till my first job after high school. I was told that a black man was lazy, wouldn't work, didn't take care of his kids etc. A man I worked with "terry" proved that wrong. He was the hardest working man there. Him and a guy everyone called fish. They really tought me that I was raised wrong. Now 8 years after I graduated high school I have a different outlook on it. I don't say the N word anymore, and I respect anyone that respects me no matter of skin color. We all bleed red. We were all created equal in the eyes of god. I am ashamed of my past, but am glad I climbed out of that hole and became the man I am today. I treat people the way they treat me...

I’m tired. I’m a mother to five and I’m so tired of being called a racist. I’ve been called a racist to my face many times for simply living my life. I’ve been told that I don’t know what it’s like to worry for my sons’ lives. What?! I’m a mother. Of course I worry for my sons. Daily. 24/7. I worry for my daughters. We are all the same. The division is fed by Hollywood, the media, and some political entities. It isn’t real.

@Marquel Hansen I normally don't comment on stuff, and what I say I mean very respectfully. I wouldn't say its over exaggerated. I can't turn on the t.v without seeing or hearing about how white people are racist, and have white privilege. I've had people comment to me that I've gotten where I have in life just because I'm white. Even though I'm the child of immigrants, and could barely speak the language growing up cause we didn't speak it at home at all, my folks worked shift work in factories for near minimum wage, and I worked 3 jobs putting myself through college because my folks needed their money. Nobody recognizes the 70+ hour weeks working to get ahead. They just look at me and assume it was handed over freely. I grew up in a low to middle class neighborhood in a very mixed community. I don't see color and I don't hate, but sometime in the last 10 years it's gotten pretty obvious that people have started seeing me by the color of my skin and not the content of my character.

I’m a white girl. Born and raised in the outskirts of Houston Texas. My parents never talked politics. Never once tried to raise us to believe any certain classification of people were “bad” or our “enemies”. But because my parents grew up on the south side of Houston and are really talking people, the “N” word was used when speaking about what they experienced as teens. Without trying, they taught me (and my 3 siblings) what life was like for them and for the black victims of “block busting” and “school integration”. Mind you, no one, black, white or otherwise, wanted any of that. They all just wanted to exist in the world and love and respect one another. But politicians forced the busing and block busting on everyone. Creating terrible situations for everyone involved. I learned from an early age that this racism shit is taught. And it’s taught and forced upon us C (at least in the last 40 years) by politicians that want to see us hate each other. We’re not born to be that way. We’re raised to be that way. And that goes for every race.
