Hi Dan. Wow. What a great video. After a horrendous trip back home with the caravan on the back, where the motorway was blocked and my car satnav was insisting I drive through tiny roads to get round the blockage, I have been looking for a satnav for caravanning. I found your videos on tomtom camper to be way better than other offerings and I very much appreciate the effort you put in. Thanks again Dan. Dave.

I’ll probably get this sat nav . I Had a dedicated Sat nav before, which took me all the way on the A roads (which was fine) but then! Down the last little bit, down an extremely narrow lane which almost got me stuck with my caravan . I would have gone down a B road to my destination, which would have been ok and that I knew, but decided to trust the new caravan sat nav. So I find it hard to trust that they will choose the best over all route. Many thanks For your video .

Hi Dan hope your keeping well Could you tell us now that you have Ben using go camper for a few months Would you say it's worth the money And has it left you & caravan on a detour on wrong road Thankyou

Great review - I'd often wondered what these dedicated systems offered over Google Maps on a smartphone. Not sure I agree it's a necessity - if I had hundreds of pounds to spend on my caravan, I can think of other things that would be higher up the list :-) I certainly learned not to trust satnav on our first trip out this year, so I now plan the route carefully before heading off!

I’ve recently bought this device and agree that it is probably the best on the market. My wife has the standard GO6200 and found that the traffic guidance is much more immediate and reliable than the Garmin that we borrowed. I like the interface and prefer the display to the clunky graphics of the Snooper and other less well known manufacturers. When away with the caravan I swap back to car only mode when out for day trips as it really does change the type of roads it recommends. Useful for avoiding long detours but, like all satnavs, it then reverts to strange cut throughs just to save half a mile! Save your marriage by arguing with the satnav not the navigator! Only bad point is a tendency for the menu to sometimes go slow. When the 6200 first came out it was lauded for having a faster processor than the model it replaced. I hate to think how frustrating that was...

We have the previous generation TomTom camper and routing for motor home is generally ok but it does have a tendency to try and direct you down a narrow lane just to cut a corner so cannot be trusted. We get 6 monthly map updates from tomtom so the problem seems to be tomtom mapping doesnt have good data, many single track roads are technically 60mph speed limit which I'm guessing confuses the algorithm on little used routes. Previously we had a snooper s5000 caravan club edition which was truly awful bad routing and really clunky to use. Would like to see this tested somewhere like Cornwall or Wales as that would be a truer test. I assume any smartphone or in car device could include weight/width based routing just as well as a dedicated unit, it's just running an algorithm after all.

Congratulations to Brian! Dan, are you going to pick up the the storyline of the fit out of your new caravan? Just before your TomTom competition/ review you were describing the change in plan of your A/C unit and requesting what coverage your views would like of your coverage: Will you be re-visiting this?

Hi Dan, a good review and the Tom Tom seem very good at what it's aiming to do. My partner and I said we wished the satnav's we have in our T5.1 and F Pace are awful for using when towing ( the Jag satnav is awful all the time), so there's a real need for this technology. I'm not sure I'd spend nearly £400 on it at the moment though, I'll see what's at the show next week or if I can upgrade the T5's sat after first. Keep up the good work Dan, you have a great channel here.👍🏼

I've been looking forward to your view on this Dan, but you didn't say much which makes me think you really couldn't justify "A fair chunk of cash" as you put it.... so you played safe. TomTom's are good and there's definitely a market for this type of device. At just under £400 with no case this one is not good value. The phone app cannot be that far away and with the NEC show in a few days lets see if the competition are listening. If I see you there - I hope to say hello!

Hi, no I did have free speech to say what I thought. I do think it’s a fair chunk of cash, and at the upper limit of others in th market. But, like I sad - I have been sent others, and this will be the only SatNav review you will see (unless something else amazing comes out) on my channel. It’s a shame that a premium product doesn’t come with a simple inexpensive case, but I have enjoyed this TomTom. If you’re in the market for one - do check it out.
