Be nice to see the other reasonable people team up. Can certainly see a pattern with MORR. Plus, it's gone way off the rails with all the events and celebrity status stuff, plus crazy amounts of sponsorship pushes for entire episodes from places giving them free stuff... That always rubbed me the wrong way, when all anyone ever wanted was to watch recovery rides and builds. Icky.

Put a drawer under your cart top. I did that for a similar rolling workbench and I keep measuring and marking things in there. I store pencils, pens, rulers, tape measure, a note pad, etc. in the drawer. Before I did that, I never had a pencil handy when I needed it. Now, it's right where I'm working.

its called cross laminated timber or CLT - its a really good building material - 2/3rds the strength of steel - you can build tower blocks from it
@ITubeTooInc
@ITubeTooInc 22 күн бұрын
No this is not cross laminated timber (CLT), that's something entirely different. Unlike CLT, BauBuche is not made of softwood timber, but instead laminated hardwood (beech) veneer. It's much closer to the different types of plywood in construction as they are all made of veneer unlike CLT which is made of timber. However, in BauBuche panels the veneer layers are perpendicular to the panel surface which is the opposite direction of both plywood and CLT.

A cart without a lip? Let me sing you the CLANG of my people. Also, a tip I've always been in favor of on the double-decker tool cabinets... shove a 2x4 or 2x6 between the upper and lowers (or build a C-frame with only the front open). It's a minimal increase in height, but it gives you a place to set things down at waist-height whenever you just need to. Which, is almost all the time. I also use it to store lunch trays with smaller projects on them, 2 or 3 wide, when I toggle between projects and need to clear off the big shop table. Oh, and the sides of the cabinets are great places to hang long things. It's not about volume, it's about accessible surface area.

"BauBuche" is an engineered wood product by the German company Pollmeier. They build it only a good 100 miles from where I live! So cool to see it in your shop! The name roughly translates to "contruction beech", since that is exactly what they invented it for. Its got some pretty neat technical properties that make it great for anything that has to be elegant yet super strong. I think building your own stuff is awesome. We have some cubbords and stools in our house that I built myself and it just feels great to have em here!

You could also use a copule of coats of the Johnson wax on the top of your wooden cart you put together. It would help protect it from oil and grease. It might add just a little shine but not too much also if you got glue or adhesive on it from some project it would help make it easier to remove the excess glue. Regular wood type glue would just pop off with a light scrapper and epoxy type glues would also be easier to remove from the top.

Here's a great trick for very tough timber workbench tops. Get an industrial-sized (8 or 12 oz) bottle of ACC (super glue), get the thinnest one, it usually comes in thin, thick and gel. Use a disposable body filler scraper to spread it over the bare sanded surface of the wood (aim for a thin, glossy coat when wet) and allow to soak in and cure. The surface can then be sanded to an incredibly tough satin finish that will also help protect the wood from cuts and dents. If you use more ACC and leave a coating on the timber like a varnish or clear coat as opposed to a "in the timber" oiled type finish yuu want for a workbench you can fine sand and polish it to a rock hard deep gloss.

Somehow missed you had your own channel - just found out today in MORR's latest video. Sure hope your channel goes well for you, TT, as your approach to building things, getting things done, was always more inline with how I used to do things. All the best!!

Hello Tom Tom, as a foreign man with over seventy years and not so good English skills, I compliment you on your pronunciation. I rarely have to pause your video and read what you have explained in the subtitles. Greetings from the eternal summer!
