Yep. He's my favourite - Just blows my mind, but look at how many people he's played with. It's usually one or two albums and then he's off doing something else. I can't imagine it's easy to be in a band with the bloke. Don's probably difficult too so those two will always be at each other, but he did say something recently to the effect that George "is always looking for something and still hasn't found it". Wondering if there's some truth in that. Damn, though - His playing is incredible.

It's probably all a moot point this far down the line, but in George's circle, there are all kinds of burnt corpses around him he once literally called his brothers. Oni Logan, Don Dokken, He says he and Mick Brown are no longer friends (to which Mick would later respond, claiming he has no idea what George is talking about??) Anthony Esposito, Sean McNabb and of course Tom Werman among others. I absolutely love listening to George play and always have, but by my reckoning, without someone around him with a steady hand on the rudder, he tends to be a bit dismissive and self destructive. Only a lifetime fan here with an outsiders perspective mind you. 💔 😢

George always ALWAYS had this competitive jealous thing with guitar players. Especially with Randy Rhoads. I met George and asked him about Randy. George just smiled at me and wouldn't say anything else like I shouldn't have asked him. He had no remorse when Randy died, and always said mean things about him. I talked once to the guy that was actually taking lessons off George at Musonia when they broke in the room and said Randy just was killed. The student told me and Kelle Rhoads was there too, that George just laughed and said now maybe he can get his chance. So what, if in fact George's claim he showed him the tapping type lick Randy used on flying high. He should be proud Randy used it. It's no different than everyone borrowing a Hendrix lick or Chuck Berry lick in famous guitar solo. One of the 1st if not the 1st of those shows and it was great. But during Dokken, the weirdest, spiraling sound kept coming out, like a malfunction from George's amps during his solo bits, whatever. Maybe somebody was really pissed, van Halen? Someone for a remark he made. It was obvious to me that someone sabotaged his gear. Next up? Scorpions! They blew everyone away. Yeah, George Lynch is known to be a malicious prick. When Tom recalled the time George lost his mind after Tom told him to play the solo on Tooth and Nail melodic, I remembered a recent interview with Don who said creating a melodic solo isn't in George's wheelhouse.

George is "known to be a malicious prick" by whom???? Don??? Jeff, Mick and George are all still friends and worked together for decades after Dokken - Jeff and George still do. George has played with a TON of other musicians after Dokken and made lots of great music. I don't recall ANY of those dozens of bands/musicians that say anything bad about George (let alone calling him a malicious prick). Other than Don (who hates everybody and everything) not sure who you are talking about. And Werman is clearly pissed, but it is fairly common for musicians and producers to argue when making records....especially when you got a guy who is super talented and wants to shred and you have Don, who wants to be "the lead guy" and Werman who was, as he said, a folk guitar player. If they had their way and got George out of the Band during Tooth and Nail, Dokken would have folded.

I like Werman and Lynch. That said, speaking in general the phrase "hothouse flower" might apply to lots of 80s era guitarists when getting "their sound". Dokken has a known history of inner conflict so it's little surprise it might spill over with a producer. Werman was involved in a lot of very successful albums though might not have been right for Dokken.

I have talked to George numerous times. I met Tom once and talked to him when I stayed at his B&B. 40 years is a long time to remember nuanced details. I don't think George was being mean spirited when he made his comments. I would like to hear Tom address George's stone soup charge. Fiction or an opinion? Seems to me these are subjective arguments. In the end Tom respects George's abilities. And George never said one negative thing to me when I've talked to him about Tom. Let's celebrate the product. It's epic.

Not 100% sure but I think Geoff Workman did some kind of tour managing for Overkill in the early 90's. I got an interview with Bobby Blitz during the years of decay tour. And I was to speak to Either a Frank or Geoff Workman regarding the details etc. . Im 100% positive about the last name workman but not so sure about the first name. Hearing that name peaked up a memory from a long time ago.

I absolutely love George Lynch's guitar work - especially the early Dokken ( thru Back for the Attack ) and the Lynch Mob "Wicked Sensation" albums. As a guitarist myself , I would also say without a doubt George is in my top 10 rock guitarists of all time - that said - it does seem George has either a reality or truth problem. He just seems like he is constantly putting other people down...and after enough years of that have gone by...you have to question if George is not actually most of the problem.

Tom Werman's track record cranking out hit albums is undeniable. Couldn't get more polar opposites than Don and George, and it's amazing that they stayed together long enough as they did without killing each other in the process. Maybe George was an ass to Werman, but hey he was young, one of the best coming out of the LA guitar scene, and wasn't going to let anyone short of Eddie Van Halen or Randy Rhoads tell him how to play his shit. Sure it's a lot of walking on glass for Werman, but that's part of the producer life. Especially when it's rock n roll and a whole bunch of egos.

Love George Lynch, saw him many times. 1988 on the Monsters of Rock tour in Miami Florida he threw down his ESP in anger and was angry as hell. In the crowd sounded great and being a player and he was an idol was taken aback. Have seen him many times since and always still thought highly of him, he always seems not impressed with anyone. He is more grounded now. At the same time be nice. He lost quite a few a gigs including the Ozzy gig to Jake and the Dio gig to Vivian Campbell. He was one of the guys in the late 70's that was smashing. Edward, Randy and George were the guys back then. Still love Love George and his playing. The Lynch Mob album Wicked Sensation is golden.
