Couple of good suggestions for pole laps: 1. Alonso's last in f1 for now Germany 2012 2. since he has been dominant as of late, Verstappen's first pole in Hungary 2019 plus its and excuse to get the cracking and banging sound of the Red Bull Honda cars

Back in the 2000’s teams would try running the bare minimum TC, if you’d set it to 1 and a click or 3 more front wing I bet you’d beat both times

Doesn't the TC setting in AC work in reverse though? A setting closer to 1 means higher degree of TC intervention.

@@Tom97 ah I didn’t see the front wing thing 😅 but yeah this car understeered a bit, seems like AC f1 cars need extreme settings, gt7 can be like that with understeer too and u end up putting the bb all to the rear

Maybe a bit lower rear wing or higher rear ARB would help the understeer in high speeds. But it might be a bit more challenging on throttle exits.

The poleman was the one starting 1st on Sunday until 2022, when they changed it because of the Sprint Weekend. Remember Michael at Monaco 2012. He was not the poleman. Or Hamilton at Barcelona that same year. It was Maldonado who got Pole Position.

Question, didn't they technically have about 2-3 more laps worth of fuel? They technically had to do an inlap after quali, an outlap before the race and a formation lap, right, although all slower than a race lap, still about 2-3 laps worth of fuel. How did it work? If I'm in the wrong please correct me. I think the 2007 situation between Alonso and Ham was avoidable, but both were stubborn. It's racing and at times things like these happen and I honestly think for that 2007 Hungary weekend both were to blame, but in the end I think we all won, since we got a great battle between Räikkönen, Alonso and Ham. They should bring back those tyres manufacturers, so that there will be competition between these companies to deliver the best tyres for cars, instead of only one tyres manufacturer that is monopolizing this part of the car so has no interest in developing better, faster and consistent tyres

I have a question: Before your best lap, have you also driven the car for several laps to burn away some fuel? In 2007, as I remember correctly, they burnt away some fuel in the beginning of the last qualifying session before setting their best laps, so I guess there weren't 20 laps of fuel left in Hamilton's car anymore.

Mclaren had established that one driver was supposed to do an extra lap to start the race with less fuel. This time it was Alonso's turn Hamilton ignored the team orders and didn't let Alonso through. In the last Q3 attempt Alonso was given used hard tyres and while stopped in the pits he looked at the pit wall while talking on the radio. He managed to cross the line with just one second left for his pole attempt, thinking that he blocked Lewis on purpose is mental

Oh, we all know he blocked him as payback for not letting him through earlier. But that's Alonso for ya, anyways, if Alonso had not done this, and say won the Drivers title in 2008 with McLaren, he most likely would/could have gone to Merc with Rosberg instead of Lewis. Which could have given him 8-10 Drivers titles. But that's Alonso for ya. He played dirty, and it affected his whole career. Some would call it Karma. But then again TBH, I don't believe Rosberg could have beaten Alonso in the same car. But to me Senna was the best, and bring back V10's. LOL. Or at least give us an option on to have V10 engine sounds when we watch it on TV. LOL.

And immediately after Hungary at Spa, Alonso on the first lap pushed Hamilton off at the start and they were side by side at Eau Rouge... that rivalry was great, plus in 2007 we had the spy story and Kimi won the championship by 1 point just because Hamilton at Brazil lost a lot of time with a gearbox problem, without that and without his mistake on the pitlane in China Lewis would have won the championship as a rookie😱. 2007 was my first year watching F1 on TV, I cannot believe that was 17 years ago😔.
