I’m a novice, but seriously passionate. It’s been a week, I’m able to play all 3 phrases with practice 1hr daily. I can’t wait to change chords faster and play without mistakes. Thank you Tomas for being the best tutor on KZbin 🎉

Wow, Thank you! just found this since I just started playing at the ripe age of 45, haha. Always loved Spanish guitar, never thought I would be able to play but and these lessons are structured so organically that, as you said, makes it look " a little" more accessible for me. Thank you again!

Love it that you brushed off the add6 saying I'm not sure. That was good stuff for beginners. I remember being intimidated by all but open easy chords early on. Don't let the technicals stop you, people! Trust your ear, your hands, and heart!!
@TomasMichaud Жыл бұрын
In the video I explained that it is like playing a G chord but just played differently. I did this as reference so that beginners can understand it better. It is a G chord without the high E tacked on.

Beginner? Do this ... Learn this lesson with the chords and picking, get up to moderate speed and check out his lesson on improvising. Use this lesson and improvise implementing rasgueados techniques for more fun. Have fun, don't make it work or the attitude kills the desire to progress and the guitar becomes another piece of clutter unused ...don't do that.

Very nicely instructed. I like to play the Em in the first position then move to the second fret for the index finger, then on to the 4th fret. Then back to the second position and then the first position. I also like playing the fu chords in alternating up-and-down strumming. It sounds like a real Spanish Flavor.

Love the simplicity of your teaching on something that sounds pretty complex… the only difference I can think of between acoustic vs Spanish guitars are the strings possibly? Steel vs nylon, without actually googling it, is my probably wrong, answer for the 2 types of guitars.

And I've been studying fingerstyle guitar and I enjoy everyone that is on you tube from Daddystove pipe to virtuoso guys and in between. Guys like Roybookbinder and Doyle Dykes"" Frank Vignola back to Davevanronk and Leon Redbone and my list goes on and on. Thanks for putting yourself out there. Great job

Hi, Thomas, I’ve been playing for years however I could never play bar chords and still can’t as my fingers are short and it’s hard for me to put my finger across all of the strings. Do you have any tips for that.
@kenlyneham41052 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the tutorial. The Spanish word, 'Malagueña', is pronounced with a silent 'U' and a hard 'G' as in 'goat'. If the 'U' was not there, the 'G' would sound like an 'H', just in the world 'Gente' meaning people, it's pronounced 'hente'.
@TomasMichaud Жыл бұрын
Thanks!😀

Very nice sound Sir, I didn’t know the G one. I am hoping you can do a series for Spanish stuff similar to this? Flamenco is much harder but this gives hope to the average Joe, like me 🙂
@abnunga2 жыл бұрын
Is nylon strings the answer you were looking for? I think 'acoustic' normally refers to the ones with steel strings, yeah? And then the classical and Spanish guitars have nylon strings for the higher strings. And some minor body-shape differences between classical and Spanish? I'm going to attempt to learn this on my electric guitar >_> :D
