Course designer needs to be fired. This course was asking for a few jumps to make these guys use the brakes on some of those stretches. I remember that one race you did ages ago in Brazil with the favelas (onboard video was with the Dan and Gee Atherton IIRC) and this one was just way too fast and dangerous. If a tyre had popped in a fast bit, you would've needed a mortician.

@@myotherusernamerules - Course design matters. Also, the one thing stopping DH MTBing from being a deadly sport is the freaking speeds. The average winning speed of a World Cup race is usually under 38kph with the fastest bits being very wide and rather smooth. You add speed and reduce width and you're gonna get people killed. It's really not rocket science.

@@EnduroMarcel - Nah, Hardline is a failed concept by default. Hardline made sense ¿20? years ago when the World Cup courses were kinda simple. Back then there were the "extreme downhill" events and even series, which focused on making courses really technical (sometimes through speed, sometimes through obstacles). The extreme downhills are no more because World Cup, national and even regional events are already quite damn hard. What does Hardline have? Really big jumps (that usually aren't much of a challenge, they're just big rather than critical) and a lot of hype for the uneducated masses. At least they could try to go find a 7-minute World Cup-intensity kind of course, make it extreme through being beyond exhausting (like Wengen's Lauberhorn run is in alpine skiing) rather than through silly gimmicks (like Kitzbuhel's Hahnekamm in alpine skiing).

I have seen several times downhill in South America and I’ve always thought that Genova would have been perfect for races like that and finally I was able to see it in my city in those road that I have walked for years and where going downhill in the mountains is even better!
