I have just been put in charge of our high school's greenhouse. I am an apartment container gardener so I have a lot to learn. I have been watching slow, quiet, and let's be honest...boring gardening videos for weeks now. THANK YOU, for the most entertaining video I have ever watched about gardening. Hmm 🤔 I didn’t realize indeterminate tomatoes 🍅 grow so large. I bought a small tomato 🍅 cage for $3.00 at Tractor supply and Porterhouse Hybrid (2lb) tomato 🍅 seeds. I think I’m going to need a new strategy. Thanks you so much for posting. I’m now subscribed. Great content, and I enjoy the humor!

Thank you for subscribing! Yes, indeterminate varieties will just keep growing until the frost kills them off. Some of ours got to 12 feet last year!

Well, I guess you learn something new every day if you're not REAL careful. I come from a tomato stake clan but I recently inherited some of those tomato cages. I confess I was planning on using them upside down until I saw this video. Thanks. That saved me some time, trouble, and embarrassment.

You’re welcome! I’m planning to make some new trellises for all of our tall vining veggies, and they should work better than these cages. I’ll have a video about that in the spring.

@@SomeRoomtoGrow I got to your page via a recommendation on Patrick's OYR page. You may want to take a look at a video he's got on heavy duty trellises. I'm planning on using that design for my Cherokee Purple tomatoes this summer. I'm planning on using those cages for some determinant cherry tomatoes.

Yup, those are the type I’m planning to build. I get lots of great ideas from his channel. I also read about them in Square Foot Gardening and they seem to be the best option for indeterminates, pole beans, cucumbers, etc.
