Hey Larry! If this is a Husky Red cherry tomato plant, you don't need to cage it at all. It's like a bush. It's a hybrid that's called a short internode tomato plant where the clusters are twice as close to one another as a normal tomato plant. I grew one in 2012 and last year in the garden and they got 6 foot tall and maybe 4 foot around and did just fine without a cage. Just an FYI.

I have grow them for many years and if you get really high winds and they have a lot of tomatoes on them yes they can break!

With heirlooms, 5 gallon grow bag and 5 feet trellis, my tomatoes has been overturned twice last season, during strong summer storms. Also, such trellis has collapsed in few cases under the weight of fruits. I had to add 3 sticks into the bag and tie trellis top to them to prevent that.

Advantages of growth bag: 1) Made of environment friendly non woven fabric, allow roots breathable and healthier. 2) Booster better roots aeration and access to oxygen, resulting in a vigorous plant with more flowers and fruits. 3) No-strap water design prevent over watering of plants. 4) Keep roots warmer in winter and cooler in the summer 5) Sturdy handle straps easier transportation. 6) Decrease risk of transplant shock.

I'm starting to garden in my 60s. Retiring from NYC schools. I was a little nervous about trying to dig and till in the new place I'm moving to. You've solved my problem. This is excellent. Where do you get the bags and what's the cost?

Hello, Nice Video. Is it possible to resue a grow bag (especially the brown root puch grow bags that claim to last years) after crop cycles? Have you tried? I would love to know the challenges with that.

The most advanced planting container growth bag, the cost is much lower than plastic, and it is more helpful for the growth of plants. If you need a sample test, we can provide it for free.🙂

I'm about to start doing my own garden (1st time) and I love this idea. One question. The round pan on the bottom with the rocks. Are there any watering issues I need to know about? If it rains a lot, should I drain the water from the pan? Do I put rocks in the bag at the same height as the exterior, mesh then dirt or just dirt?

Larry, when you have veggies growing in 1 gallon grow bag, do you have to replant in 5 gallon? Can anything grow and stay in the 1 gallon?

Can I plant fruit trees in grow bags? Currently I am planting longan, mangoes and ciku trees in environmentally friendly non- woven materials. I bought the young, grafted plants from the nursery and transplanted them into the bags. But will the bags disintegrate with time? Please advise. Thanks.

I stumbled across this after searching for the best ways to grow a container garden. This will be my first time ever attempting to grow anything but this method looks very promising. I will be using my shopping bags to try this. Please add me on Facebook. I don't have much on my profile because it's specifically for couponing. Moore Savings. Thank you!
