When tomatoes are on sale this is routine for my family. Typically we do tomato basil bisque which adds a bit of cream and, well, basil but I think cilantro lime jalapeno tomato soup is a good idea. Tomato soup is HIGHLY representative of what us Americans eat rich or poor. But we typically eat it with bread or cheesy bread. Sometimes we even eat it in a bread bowl.

Actually, I still remember being in morning preschool, before I was 4, & being unhappy because I was staying for lunch & there was tomato soup. 😝 Discovered as an adult that tomato rice soup, with grated cheese melted on top -- quite good. Sounds like TPT soup was home made, with seasoning. We only had salty, canned tomato soup. Blessings, all.

I love tomato soup. I make it from scratch with cream, bone broth, olive oil, herbs and spices. I roast the tomatoes with garlic cloves first, then finish it in my Ninja cooker. I bake keto bread and make a garlic and herb grilled cheese sandwich to go with the soup. Its divine! 😋😁

This is amazing on a cold. snowy day,especially with a grilled cheese sandwich to dip in it.Have they ever tried French Onion Soup?That is also amazing from a simple vegetable.Also,are they familiar with lentil soup,I know they eat lentils in other forms,this is lentils, smoked meant and vegetables cooked then pureed.You can add a dab of sour cream to mix in when serving.Very hearty.

Tomato soup was my mom's rainy day lunch for us, tomato soup and a grilled cheese sandwich. We would dip the sandwich into the soup and let the bread soak up a bit of the soup before biting into it. Or she might serve it with a crusty French bread. If she was rushed, we got crackers with the soup but however it was served, we loved tomato soup when I was a child.

I almost never have tomato soup without having grilled cheese sandwich at the same time. I always cut the sandwich cut from one corner to the opposed. Making it look like small triangles. That way I can dip the sandwich in the soup. Mmmmm Goood.

I like it in a cup and sip it when I'm working outside in the freezing cold. Tea and coffee are ok if you're outside for an hour but my work is unloading shipping containers on the North Sea coast for ten hours a day, then I need something with more calories, in between meals. Tear a slice or two of bread into big chunks and put in the soup with a pinch of sugar. Very filling. Another way that's good is a drizzle of olive oil, fresh cracked pepper and shaved parmesan cheese.

It is loaded with vitamin C so if you lack that in your diet it will certainly make you feel better. Great with crunchy toast and butter. Add some cheese for protein and there you go; one good healthy meal.

I often toss some curry powder into my tomato soup (Caribbean curry, which is not too terribly far from Pakistani curry, I believe).
