I just improvised my first chutney based on your recipe and instructions, I made an Indian variation because I had coriander seeds frommy garden and wanted to use them :) All the best from Transylvania

Thank you, I’m going to try this recipe on the weekend. I try not to add sugar to anything so I’m going to use honey or figs instead. 😊🇦🇺

Great recipe, I'm going to do this for sure. I have lots of green tomatoes. Can you suggest anything with lemons? I've been giving them away but family, friends and neighbors are saying " no more please" lol

Hi Suzana, try making preserved lemons - so delicious and cheap to make, but expensive to buy in the shops. Your friends will be asking for more of these! fb.watch/dVCxeHj31q/

We make loads of carrot chutney with our excess or old carrots. Goes great with liads of things. I like making it nice and spicy and sticking it on some homemade naan bread.

Fantastic zero waste idea! What's your favourite spice combination?

@@riverfordorganicveg I generally use turmeric, coriander, cumin and caraway for the carrot chutney with plenty of chilli flake and mustard seed too.

Yep, my cherry tomatoes ran out of time last year so I chutnied them like this. It's been 6 months storing - it ain't pretty (brown sludgey) but tasty. I'll add chillies next time like you did!

As long as it tastes good, your first efforts sound fine 👍The chilli does add that extra kick and makes chutney that adds life to even the saddest sandwich!

Is there any benefit in taking the skins off the tomatoes first? as the apples were peeled.
@riverfordorganicveg3 жыл бұрын
No need as the tomatoes in this chutney is quite chunky whilst the apples break down a little more.
