at 4:37, the image on the plane is from the movie Barbarella on the wreck of Maria Dorea with the room with the glass floor and pont there is a baddie with a red cap. On the rear side it has the name "joss". It is a reference to Joss Charmet, an animator for TR1, TR2 and TR3 according to Tomb Raider Forums.

The crashing of the plane (CRASH FMV) came from Indiana Jones and the temple of Doom. As a result of no gas on the plane. In the cutscene when Marco Bartolli stapes himself with the dagger, there is a sound played backwards from the Indiana Jones movie. The intro FMV of TR2, contains sounds of the movies Braveheart. If you complete TR2 golden mask in Windows registry is a key with RJF = 150868. With is Richard J. Flower, 15 august 1968.

Terrific Job Dude love your references channel I also found many movie refs myself. At the end of Temple of Xian when Marco stabs the dagger in his heart you can hear the same music from the sacrfice/heartrip scene in Temple of the Doom. Both protagonist fight also a maniac cult. Another one from this film is the plane crash scene when Indy/Lara have to jump out. Another reference is from Mad Max: The Road Warrior when Lara is chased by the cultmembers in the Snow, she shoots exactly backwards like Max in the final chase with the same impact. The Swimming Islands are reffering to The Golden Child with Eddie Murphy were a dagger plays also an important role with the same Tibet setting. He has to pass also a similar room like the swimming Islands are. The snowmobile chase might be based on Die Hard 2. The shark part with the sea based setting and using a harpoon as weapon could be inspired from James Bond's License to kill.

I still dig these out from time to time and play them finding something 'new' every time. Back to an earlier era of baddies with square heads! The music in the Opera house is my favourite when she breakes out in the speedboat! This TR music has now been orchestrated and sounds AWESOME on a big orchestra. That T rex still sends shivers up my spine and makes me jump even though I know its there.

1:09 Cool! Usually you need just press the button and hurry up getting back to the secret door. So, I've never paid my attention to these statues. I thought I knew everything about TR2. Great to know new references in such an old game!

First ps1 game I ever played, my uncle bought thos game for me and on the build up to my birthday before I got my ps1, me and my best friend used to sit on the front door step and read the manual every night in anticipation for when we could play. Once we could play we realised the game was to hard for our 10 year old boy brains.

the scene where lara escapes the dragons lair, right where the explosion is rushing out behind her. That's where she learns how to sprint like you do in tr3, it just couldn't be implemented into the game because of the hardware

Hi, the Judith and Shelley mix was stated in TR Fandom but its nice to see/hear it clarified on video. And the handstand why its a joke? Its mostly a recognition, cause it looks cool, the only way it jusrify it as a joke would be it is an animation without any purpose/effect ingame idk. Anyway, great vid, love TR2, thank you🎉

A truly horrifying little fact about TR2: the PS1 original version retains an unfixed bug in all its versions (Greatest Hits & Platinum too). One of the secret jade dragons kills you. After obtaining it, slowly and carefully descending a ledge with broken glass with you an insta-death. The only way out is doing a non-running jump. You will lose a sliver of health, and there is no other way. PC port fixes this.
