I'm honestly blown away. When I watched the premiere last night I was in awe, goosebumps all over my body. Just imagining that AOD is turning 20 next year and continues to live on despite everything that was said about it and how it turned out in the end, it still warms my heart. I will always stand by my words when I say that AOD continues to persevere because of love! The love that was poured into it by the developers, the voice actors, the composers and Murti. This love reached the fans even if the game never managed to reach its full potential, this love made all of this happen. And I feel it here too, the love that everyone involved in this short film poured into it. The artwork, the soundtrack, the execution, this is the essence of Tomb Raider in a non-game type of media captured at its finest. I'm so so grateful that you all made this happen, thank you!

That's such a wonderful surprise for me. OG Core timeline is always gonna be my all-time favorite and AoD is definitely one of my favorite TR games ever, full of potential and great ideas, so watching this really makes me happy. I'm glad Jonell also returned to voice Lara, as I loved her work in 4, 5 and AoD.

Despite all of the cool details about Lara's life in the Bantiwa tribe, I'm just happy they finally answered something that always bugged me about Angel of Darkness and it's repeated use of this one cutscene: "You left me in Egypt!" No, he didn't. Chronicles clearly shows that Werner stayed behind trying to save her. But this finally gives us the concrete answer that, no, Lara NEVER found out about Werner's attempts to save her. She never saw him. She discovers kids found her rucksack, but didn't know that Werner uncovered it first. At Werner's apartment, after Lara confronts him about his supposed abandonment, he didn't have time to reveal the truth as he immediately tries to fight off the Monstrum. This inconsistency had always bugged me, and I theorized that perhaps Lara never knew about Werner's loyalty, but I'm glad this can finally give us a proper answer.

BRAVO!!! I really loved the story and its more reboot sensibilities in that Lara is not just there to take the shiny reward, fight a deranged crime lord and then bounce. She is part of the place, she immerses herself in its culture, she cares about its people. It really gave classic Lara a lot of heart and personality. Ms. Jonell completely killed it. she was fantastic back then and she's fantastic now. Thank you to all who was involved in making this. This fan is really happy.

The artwork, Jonell voicing Lara, the storytelling 👏🏼 It is a little confusing though how Lara was trained, built up so much energy and learned so many skills in the desert for her to be so weak and unfit in the beginning of AOD. How could Lara see kids playing with her backpack somewhere around her tribe? (03:55)

von Croy left the backpack at the site as memorial since they didn't manage to find Lara there. One of the kids took the backpack from the place and brought it back to camp.

@dimthestageagain2 жыл бұрын
I ended up liking that book a lot more than I expected - the plot could be described in generous terms as "thin", but as a stand-alone adventure with Lara I think it works well. E.E. Knight who wrote "The Lost Cult" from the same series stated that the Eidos / Core side spent 7 months revising and editing the canon outline provided to the authors, which was eventually finalised just one month before the deadline for the novel. Mike Resnick died two years ago so there's no way of knowing for sure, but I think the absence of Putai and the Bedouins has more to do with their removal from the finished game than an omission on the part of the author. According to E.E. Knight, the Eidos team insisted on approving "every little twist and turn" in the books, so from their side they were certainly willing to accept Resnick's story as canon.

This story is much more interesting than the entire last Tomb Rider trilogy. It could make a great game! And by the way, I'm the only one offended by the fact that Seth is still quietly underground and in fact he can be freed from the rubble by simply removing the amulet. I would like a remake of the game where Horus takes him into the stars with him so he won't be on earth anymore.
