Tomba 1 & 2 are forever engraved in my childhood memories. I played Tomba 1 at my cousin’s house in the basement for hours. I never got my own copy of Tomba 1 but I did manage to get Tomba 2 and played the hell out of it! I even beat the game back in the day. Now getting a full copy of either game is expensive and hard. Tomba 2 is criminally underrated. Despite the fact IGN praised it and multiple video game critics alike, Tomba 2 fell short in sales since it came out during the launch of the PS2. It took all the attention away ind it’s such a shame. I’m happy now everyone gets the chance to play this masterpiece.

Their distribution of the games outside Japan was awful. They needed way more copies. I remember vividly playing a demo and really wanting the game but couldn't find it anywhere, it was only when I was in the US visiting relatives that I found a copy and I remember it was like the only one in the shop. Then I found out I had to chip my PS1 in the UK to get it to work. 🤦🏻‍♂️ After all that trouble I still never came close to completing it as a kid!

My favorite exchange was when the guy did a shitty impression: "I am Tomba the mighty" and then the mustache dude shuts him down instantly, something along the lines of: "He doesn't speak so he would never say that" Such a buzz kill but so funny nonetheless. Those two need to be friends, their chemistry was great.

​@@recordkeepertype0662 yes.. there are 4 secrets mission in Tomba 2 if you have the save data from Tomba 1. But that doesn't matter. You can just play Tomba 2 without save data from Tomba 1.

My dad had the OG playstation with Tomba 2 when I was little and since I was so young I couldn't appreciate it. All I remember is having a blast with this game and for the longest time it was just a memory, I couldn't even recall the name of the game. So I'm so glad they are remaking them. I can't wait to play it!

Theyre very charming. Its a metroidvania type. Tight controls, fun mechanics. For its time it was pretty cool because its a 3d side scroller. Vaguely like that captain toad game.

This is the generation of remasters and remakes, and i'm not complaining (sorta of 😅). It's good to replay these classics nowdays. Had a blast with the first Tomba back in the day. I would like to see gameplay as it's a remaster and not a PS one re release. 80's, 90's and early 2000's were the golden age of games. Happy these jewels are not forgotten.

I really hope they give you the option to play the game in english but with the original japanese soundtrack. I first played this game when I was 5 years old, I'm now 27 and I wil buy it as soon as it releases. Back in the day, I only had the japanese version of the game (and no, I don't know how to speak japanese), but the child version of myself somehow managed to complete the game, even without being able to read a single word. I miss these times so much and it would be amazing to play it again, now reading in english to finally understand the story, but also listening to the Japanese OST, wich is much better and nostalgic than the American one in my humble and personal opinion! Thank you for bringing back Tomba and Tomba 2!!! The second game is definitely my favorite and I’m happy to see it come back after all these years. This game deserves recognition love and more popularity!! It is very underrated and people anymore don’t like changes or give anything a chance so we should show the world that Tomba deserves to be just as popular and loved as Disney and Warner bros is. Tomba is a one of a kind unique great game franchise. I really hope it gets what it deserves by being appreciated and loved by players and people all around!!!

Not sure they will upgrade anything, the first game looks identical to ps1 version so far from what it was shown. Only remastered audio tracks and possibility to save everywhere and that's it.
