I just caught her opening for Ray Lamontagne in Pittsburgh…courageous and sincere artist dazzling the crowd with just words and her guitar. I’ve missed such a thing. A long lost art that people are dying for more of. When was the last time background dancers or multiple costume changes hit you in the feels like this woman’s unaltered and raw voice…siren songing her way through this one? Do what you can to help her get more recognition. She deserves it.

Absolute gems, all of her songs. Ya know how when you’re feeling down or displaced and you just happen upon a soundtrack that slips into this empty place in your mind and it seems to momentarily fill a void and then you come to terms with the fact that you’re essentially just a chunk of swiss cheese, full of voids, some that require being filled and others that are just fine being a void. You know how when?!

What a talent. Guitar also sounds like the 90s indie on which i grew up, which still hits the sweet spot so easily i cant help but wonder at what a simple machine i am

Do you know of New York Noise,? It was a show they showed on public access in the tri-state area and it was a great show. They so would have showcased this... she's originally from Florida but now an NYC resident They definitely works have shown this. Miss that show. Best times with my dad.

@laurenanderson78232 жыл бұрын
@@yrmthr i dunno... i think it just depends on the listener... i remember the early 2000, with bands like ... shoot, i can't even remember their name, who had that gritty, 70s, not heavily produced (though, I'm sure, HIGHLY produced), lo-fi-ish rock'n'roll sound... i dunno... whatever floats your boat... everything's derivative at this point, right? but, i think the separating line is AUTHENTICITY... i'd be nice and refreshing to have an authentic expression, rather than someone who's going for a "vibe"

Happiness can absolutely be a mistake... "Shameful Joy" is a different example that came to mind... what are you so afraid of being happy? freedom is a little bit weird and uncertain, that is what freedom is. You can't go dressing it up in some weird bizarre sense. uncertainty is the essence of surprise.

Nah, it's simple and intoxicating. It's not just about how many notes you play, but which ones.
@levelfourteen2 жыл бұрын
Mastery of simplicity in music is greater than mediocre complexity. Music is meant to be felt on a emotional level or thought provoking. It's the expression of humanity whether it be from the self or for others..The simpler the better because more people can connect to it.
