I found upsizing also works in the fall. Going to 4.8 or 5” seems to trigger a few more bits when fish are a bit negative.

This is a video I’ve been waiting for. I bought a boat load of those kalin’s jerk minnows awhile back. I don’t get to fish a lot but really want to “learn” how to fish. I’m sure I could use live minnows some, but it’s not real handy for me if that makes sense. Anyways, I appreciate this video very much, Tom. Wet lines brother! Thanks for all the tips

So I run a helix7 with just my minn kota transducer and wasn't getting a good Di or Si picture. So I went to the bait shop and got a Y cord and hooked the minn kota and the transducer my helix7 came with. OMG as soon as I left the dock I was seeing stuff I never seen. Just throwing that out there for everyone.

I too want to say thank you and appreciate all your content. I did want to highlight that I really appreciate this video and other videos on plastics. In my state we are not allowed to use live minnows so plastics is our only choice. Thank You!

Great job as always! I think swimbaits are the most underutilized and most versatile bait for walleye there is.

I hear ya. I went on a crappie hunt myself here in ND on one of my favorite lakes. We found a huge school of fish, they were insane, corrosive and complained alot. Turned out it was a school of Christophers.

I like that you are very thorough with what and why. When fishing plastics to you ever add any pro cure gel scents or any scent in general just for a little extra or no?

Fishing Sawyer and Price counties this weekend. Definitely will give that finesse snap jigging a try. Had success with the jigging rap over the past couple weeks too. Tom do you use the DNR stocking data base and fishery surveys when looking for new lakes?

Tom when jigging plastics. Do you tie a loop knot to the jig? Use a snap? Double uni? Just curious. Thanks!

I always prefer to fish artificial lures, but I admit I probably don't catch as many as if I used minnows. I just don't want to buy minnows, though I will get leeches on occasion. Went to Canada this spring and the wife caught more and bigger walleye on minnows than I did with Gulp and swimbaits. The pike were really attacking the swimbaits so that was fun, and annoying at the same time.
