I'd like to thank you, Tom. At 34 years old I just caught a Walleye yesterday on a 17g Hyper Rattle (per your recommendation), it was my first catch on Hyper Rattle/Jigging Rap style of bait, and after watching your videos I was ripping the ever loving hell out of that thing! The next time I went to pop it, it was like I was snagged on the bottom. That fish felt so good to catch so thank you!

I too want to thank Tom. While I never gave the lake a ton of effort, my local lake is deep and a very active boating scene. I pretty much gave up on fishing it over the years and I'd just go out to hang out. Wouldn't even bother bringing my rods after years of catching nothing or only small smallmouth. I saw his recent video on jigging for summer walleye and again mostly went out just to hang out, but I brought my rod this time. I didnt have a hyper rattle, but i decided to try a Manns little george because I thought it was a similar look and size to the alewife on my lake. At some point after cruising around for a while, I got a chance to fish. Found a saddle off an island, found 20', marked a fish on the bottom, dropped the bait immediately behind the boat, hit bottom, and on the first jerk I hooked a medium sized walleye. It was like discovering fire. First walleye I ever caught on this lake in 10+ years. Thanks for all the tips! Finally have some knowledge to work off of to understand what is going on below me.

Thank you for all the videos you post. Between guiding, doing this and making it out for the odd “me” day, busy times I’m sure. Your electronics always look good. What do you generally have screen scroll set to? Even on calm days I can’t see what you do. I’m hoping to put a mega si in my boat for next year.

Great job. I gotta ask though, Mitchell is always saying Big fish then pulls up a 14-15". 😉. It's a monster, get the net. Then reels on the 14 -15er". 😄. Another Mitchell Monster. Kinda like the confusing weatherman... JK.. 😜

Nice that you picked a day with no wind. Can be iffy. Did you have to rig the boat to comply with Coast Guard Great Lake regs with flares, flags and the such....?

Hey! i watched a pro last year on H2H use bottom bouncers with their rapalas. it allowed them to get on the bottom closer to boat and pick it up with their livescope or what ever live sonar they were using. Any thoughts on trying this over say leadcore?

Tom, I need to complement you on your video presentation and your fishing education content. Just started to follow you this summer and I am so impressed with the content and methods. The lakes and rivers on your show are here in Wisconsin and Minnesota where we fish. Enjoyed seeing your show on the new boat at Warner Dock. That’s my dealer. Keep up the great work and thanks for educating not just catching fish.

You’re one fortunate individual being able to fish as often and successfully as you do. I’m always so busy with work and family. Hopefully get out this fall more. I have a boat just like yours except with a Yamaha. I see you now have Mercury instead of Suzuki? Did you switch for any special reason or are they now a sponsor?
