This video is all about interpreting side imaging, sonar and down imaging to help you catch more fish. In this video I take 10 screen shots from my humminbird helix unit and explain what I see. I talk about the time of year and how I would target the fish I see. Breaking down this information is the number one question I get asked on KZbin. If you want to learn how to read side imaging sonar and down imaging this video should be a tremendous help. Thanks for watching and let me know what you think. Thanks.

Tom as an expert on the use of the hummingbird helix chirp 3gen, what would be very helpful is to do a tutorial video on how to use it on your desk. And then follow it up by doing in it in a fishing situation. Thanks for considering this.

Hi Tom thanks for another great video on what to look for. In one of your recent videos you commented that your moving. I would find how you setup your new garage and also what you do for winterizing summer gear andgetting winter gear ready to go. Think most of use are in that mind set also so be nice timely video. Thanks again

Good stuff Tom, In addition to being an avid fisherman I work as a Sonar Technician in Water Rescue/Recovery. You do an excellent job of explaining sonar image interpretation. Well done!

Tom Love your videos and have watched many . One thing Id like to ask is that on that screen shot you said were ciscos or whitefish at 50 feet , could they not have been walleyes? I was on a lake in Northern Minnesota and had a very similar screen shot so we dropped our camera and they were walleyes . Like your opinion

Tom, great video on how to interpret imaging. I am getting better, but man practice, practice. I do have a question in relation to SI. How do you determine the distance from the boat a mark maybe? For example if your SI is set at 95 feet and your marks or weed bed shows up 1/2 way between the boat and edge of screen am I just to assume that's it's about 45 ft or so? Also since your boat is moving are you just determining when you see that mark that it's say at your 9 or 3 o'clock if it's directly to the left or right or your boat? Or maybe it's at your 11 or 2 or 5 or 7 ? Does that make sense, the question I"m asking. I guess I"m more concerned with distance in relation to the boat, knowing how far I need pitch or turn around to comeback over the spot. As always keep up the great work. Fish ON, Hooked UP!!!

Thoughts on MEGA 360 imaging? Use or not to use? SI more productive for locating walleye?

Hey Tom, I have to admit that I study your videos intently. If my observations are correct, It seems that you hook up all through the daylight hours? This seems to go against traditional thought. I'm down here in north Arkansas and most all my catces are accidental while crappie/bass fishing either very early morning or late evening. What are your thoughts? Thanks, Chad

Quick question on waypoints and mark's. Do you leave them on your map? I usually try to mark where I've caught fish trolling etc... Do you delete any Mark's- if nothing pans out? Thanks.
