Love 😊 that "thumb hook disgorger" technique for Walleyes... Bloody game fish (northern pike, walleye, and bass) returned back to water lower survival chances...

Good work Tom! Great video. I’ve been thinking of purchasing walleye now and wondering if anyone has seen a total advantage over the KZbin videos. Because I think his videos are incredibly informative and useful as it is.

It'll be interesting to see what you think of the megalive 2 on forward-facing sonar in the boat compared to the mega live 1... Because that one sucked.... Probably why I went to Garmin.
@FlynntheBookseller6 сағат бұрын
Hey Tom i got a question for you. On a few of the walleye you caught i notice that they are bleeding from the gills. How likely are those fish going to survive when you release them? Im not asking because I'm some crazed PETA person but i am genuinely curious. Since you are a catch and release fisherman. Just hoping to learn more about fishing! Love your videos!
@TomBoley6 сағат бұрын
@@FlynntheBookseller here is what I think... If I keep this fish it is 100% going to die. If I let it go... 50/50. I am gonna fish... I'm not deterred by the fact that fishing is not generally good for the fish.

Why don’t you run a garmin for livescope? Even there gen 2 just looks closer to livescope
@guitjolin5 сағат бұрын
He runs Humminbird. Sponsorships probably help too
@commonsenseapproach1012 сағат бұрын
agree, HB isn't even close to garmin ...still . I've fished with all 3 brands and HB has by far the worse menu and very poor range and has a delay. LR has the worse delay and very poor bottom return.

50% survival on gut or tongue hooked fish. 25% gill hooked. Atleast that's what I've read on the internet, so I know it's true.

@TomBoley agreed. Just can't say, "no harm to the fish" is all. Small hooks and tip ups, it's what you get. Nice work, but I'd probably just keep em when that happens.

@@adamhomb6012 Heck yeah! I would use all of this equipment if I had it, too. But even watching how Tom is using the 'fancy' stuff helped my friend and I, relative novices at walleye fishing, figure out how to best use the 'cheap' little hummingbird sonar on our rental boat last summer.
