I saw the 2 day opportunity to get out on the bigger lakes in my 1436 before the cold front. I was pike fishing and landing smallmouth on a savage gear 6.5" line thru perch witht he belly hook. Never had smallmouth bend over my musky road like that

Also, quick question. Trying to determine what kind of a body of water I'll be fishing on. It's fed at one end by a river, a separate branch of that same river, and what looks like a creek. It's dammed on the other end, and flows back out into the same river. River flows north to south -- flows in on the north end, dammed on the south end, to "create"(?) the lake. Is this a reservoir? a river? Is it technically a flowage? Someone HELP! Please! 🙂

Sure color matters but what are hair jigs supposed to be imitating. Can you do an episode on food, baitfish and or leaches whatever walleye target throughout the year. Maybe mayflies their season
