hello!! i have recently bought the hp premium choice laserjet paper using the link in the description. however, i've been facing a problem - the ink smudges because im a lefty. i pause after every stroke, even so, it still smudges and my end product does not look too good. do you have any tips? thank youu
@Handletteredandloved5 жыл бұрын
Ugh I feel your pain. Lefty here! the smudging comes with being a lefty but it is possible to drastically cut down on smudging when you figure out a different way to hold your hand. I have learned to put my hand above my words when writing so I don't smudge. You can also write underneath like you would in traditional dip pen calligraphy. You would just need to turn your paper. I have a ton of videos that may help within my FB group and IG. I also have a free mini-course with downloadable worksheets if you want to take a look, www.tanyalevandoski.com/signup FBGroup: facebook.com/groups/TanyasHandLetteredAndLOVED.Learn/ instagram.com/hand.lettered.and.loved/

My problem is pen angle. When I watch you, you seem to be very straight up and down. That's where I struggle. I've got two fills down and not sure if it's from pressing or paper. I've now changed to this UP paper
@HowtoHandLetter7 жыл бұрын
Yes, when I write I keep the angle the same and the only thing that changes is the pressure (unless I'm readjusting my grip). It has taken a lot of practice because that's not how our minds are trained to write, but it gets easier to have a steady hand with time and practice! Good lucK!

Can you use the same paper but a lighter weight? I was Amazon and the paper you suggested is 32lb weight for $19.99. The same amount of paper at 24lb was $9.99. I've been trying every piece of paper I own and I feel like I'm abusing my pens/markers and none of the paper is good enough. I've stopped until I order the paper you suggested, but I'm unfamiliar with all of those details, so I don't know if the weight of the paper matters. I'm clueless. But if it doesn't matter, I would rather order the same amount of paper for $10 less lol. Especially when it's for practice mostly lol.
@pandabear23965 жыл бұрын
Rinster17 the weight matters extremely you could feel the deference in the smoothness in the paper I recommend just watching the 32lbs price because it jumps between 10 and 20 dollars. If u can I recommend an add on called honey which has a feature that emails you when the price drops
@pandabear23965 жыл бұрын
But once the price drops stock up because the price will jump right back up to 20 bucks. I saw it at 12 dollars about a month back and the next day it was 20. You can also use a 20% off coupon at Office Depot and just get the paper from there if u don’t want to wait
@pandabear23965 жыл бұрын
Its 11 dollars right now on Amazon if you are in the US. I can't promise it will be the same price tomorrow, so I know I'm getting 2 packs to stock up. It's only this price once a year so if your gonna get it to do it now. @HowtoHandLetter5 жыл бұрын
It's hard to explain but it's when the tip of the brush pen wears down a bit so that it has little fibers coming out... it makes it hard to get a clean line and you can often see little marks coming off of the edges of your line when writing. I hope that makes sense! Thanks for watching!

I’m planning to use these pens to write a title in composition notebooks on the title line, is this one good for that? I don’t know if the dual tip brush pens are too big to write in a composition notebook as a title.
@tanyalevandoski3965 жыл бұрын
I would probably stay away from using these on regular paper like that of a composition notebook. the brush tips fray easily when used on regular notebook or printer paper. I always suggest using something like a Rhodia pad which has great smooth paper. Or if you're just practicing, you can use HP laser printer paper or even tracing paper. both are safe for your brush tips.Link for hp paper below.
