Really excited for the Tombstone VS Valkyrie match! This fight could've happened in both WCIII and WCIV during the Round of 16 if Valkyrie won its play-in matches. What a hellish schedule, the only Most Destructive winner missing from that murderer's row that Tombstone hasn't fought yet is Cobalt (who I personally think has a 60% chance of winning, maybe higher with Matt Olson on the sticks). Curious to see what Orbitron can bring to the table after Proving Grounds. I think Tombstone's chances against Valkyrie are pretty solid given the former's reach advantage, and while Valkyrie can definitely put the hurt on anything it's not nearly as much of a brick as RotatoR. Against Hypershock it can go either way, the biggest factor is who's driving.

Looking forward to the action. Interesting opponents for Tombstone. They may have gone with that matchup so that no one bot will have a massive advantage over others. Hypershock match will be tough and with Valkyrie the tires are in danger from being cut by the low blade. Haven't seen Orbitron battle before so looking forward to seeing how they do too.

Our 3 year old will tell you his favorite robot is Hypershock, but whenever we actually get the arena out to play he abandons it for Tombstone. Kid might have a schism when that fight happens.

The "gearing together" part is really hard to do reliably. It's not a bad idea in theory, but difficult in practice

just a wild idea for maybe a future event. since mortician is performing so damn well too why not bring 2x mortician to a heavyweight match as multibots and you stear one and your son the other? maybe not the most effective but definitely fun to see (and hopefully steer as well).

Valkyrie with that lower weapon looks like it would need to go for your wheels as the weak spot. Would you not machine bevelled metal side guards for your wheels as side armour against glancing blows?

Orbitron will be no match for tombstone, but hypershock is probably going to be the one that is going to be the hardest to get a KO from how aggressive the last match up was, Valkyrie is basicly hit or miss (literally). Valkyies low cutter blade is set so low to the point where it looks like it can go under Tombstones blade, but the trade off is that Tombstones blade can actually reach out more if it's using the aluminum/steel or S7 blue blade.

i wouldn't underestimate orbitron. it's pretty tough, and very maneuverable. there's a decent chance it can tank tombstone long enough to give some critical hits back

i think this is a good draw, no control robot" like Original Sin", no overhead hitters either or flippers, i can see him to 3-0 *IF* justin drives very very well and do not get pushed into hazards or walls. what is the biggest question is how reliable Tombstone will be this time, i hope Ray do alot upgrades or changes to make it survive 3 minutes cause it seem most the losses last few years was not due to lack of weapon power but cause the robot was it own worst enemy (fires, weapon chain broke, bars breaking etc.). IF he keeps spinning he will be winning. i would go with the longest bar in this case, really you don't want Valkyrie to hit first, or Hypershock, the 3rd robot i don't know anything about but its power is not as huge but you don't want to lose the range fight, this is one of the advantages of TOmbstone weapon has a large range i just seem to "Jump" to much when hitting not sure what can be done about it other than using a bar that reduces this.

My advice for Valkyrie: weld a small upside down wedge on the bottom of the front of tombstones frame, that way you skip over valkyries weapon and hit the chassis directly.

Worked for the antweight robot Cheesecake, interesting to see if it will still work on a heavyweight robot with the amount of kinetic energy involved in hits at that weight.

Wouldn’t orbitons hit ( kinetic) be 1/4, each spinner 1/2 weight, and diameter of spinner is 1/2

I really have no idea how fast they are spinning them, or what the MOI is exactly, both of which drastically change KE numbers. From our perspective we just have to assume they will hit plenty hard enough, and be prepared for that.

orbitron's self-driving is great not because it replaces human driving, but because it complements it. it allows for the driver to better make the higher-level tactical and strategic decisions, because they're not having to focus as much on the nitty-gritty of every little driving input

hypershock drives sometime to aggressive they don't have patience, and those tires are huge targets, it all comes down to driving and durability! i hope this version of Tombstone is alot more reliable than the last few years versions which kinda destroyed itself way to many times, after all its like Ray said: "if we spin, we win".

Mad and probably unrealistic idea against Valerie....if you raise the front of tombstone....by putting....a small wheel midway between your bar and your back wheels....in theory their undercutter would go under tombstone on a front to front hit

Not really a bad idea, just unrealistic with the way the weight is distributed on Tombstone. The weapon is just REALLY heavy. If you try to support the nose anywhere behind the weapon support, then the weight of the weapon would leverage up the weight on the tires - and I already don't have enough weight there to drive the way I want. It is a decent idea for robot design, and in fact the horizontal weapon system on Bombshell kind of did that. But I don't think it would work well for me.

Actually, more on that - given the increase in live shows, i had a feeling it was a money increasing excercise. Seems like i could be right? because if broadcasters fees are prohibitive, it would explain the increase in events. I am also mindful of över-content"where interest in the sport eventually wanes - so i wonder how the next 365 days are going to play out! Watching afar from New Zealand here - following my boys! and wishing to see TOMBSTONE SMASH again
