For me, Only The Brave is about the LGBT+ experience. I see a lot of my own journey through my identity reflected in the lyrics, specially in the “it’s a church of burnt romances, and I’m too far gone to pray” bit. He also mentioned in a recent interview that this song was about bravery and love, saying that “love is only for the brave”, which again really resonates with what us LGBT+ kids have to face throughout our lives. Always You is not one of my favourite, not because I don't like it, but simply because there are so many other songs in the album that I prefer. But Tom's reaction to it had me appreciate the song so much more!! It really is a bop! Also I live for people's reaction to Defenceless, because the song starts so unassuming, and people are not expecting it to be like THAT, and when the song really kicks in, it really gets the best reactions. Defenceless really is that bitch, and I love her so much!!!
