flamingoes actually have a special way of eating that allows them to absorb the color. They usually eat a red bacteria that filters through them and gives them a pink tint. "Normal" flamingoes are a grayish color and are like that from birth you young adulthood.

The suburb of Northeast Ohio that I live in is actually known for a large presence of plastic pink flamingos. I've never quite understood, but it's something Parma gets picked on for a ton. So I can believe that there are more fake flamingos than real ones. A significant portion of them are in the front yard of my neighbor's house.

I'm an Aussie child of the 80's, we NEVER wore our caps with the brim flat like that. Oh the SHAMMMME if you ever got a new one and didn't curve the brim before you wore it in public.
