Did you not listen to a word Perna said? Are you Satan? How dare a 49ers fan shoehorn his way into this conversation? How dare you, sir? Comparing one of your 5 year rebuilds to other fans' DECADES of futility and despair is offensive! How dare you admonish us to not give up hope? What good is hope for fans of teams owned by the likes of Dan Snyder, Jim Irsay, Mark Davis, the Haslams, the Bidwells, the McNairs, Shahid Kahn and Dean Spanos? How dare you infect these abused fans with hope? Or is it just a 49ers fan way of pissing of the rest of us peasants?

It is much better to have loved and lost than to not to love at all. It is the ups and downs of the world. Years of suck, for our franchises leads to success. Hopefully the suck won't last too long this time. The Giants after being the Yankees of football from the 1950s to 1963, went through 18 years of no playoffs. From the year before I was born in 1963 to 1981. So I feel the pain of everyone... five Super Bowl appearances and 4 Super Bowl wins have been sweet indeed. The Vikings are the only team that’s never had 3 losing seasons in a row (at least not since their first 3 years over half a century ago, before most NFL teams existed. Vikings fans have a fate worse than fans of a bad team. We’re fans of a team that’s never really bad for more than a minute, and never bad enough to get a good draft pick. Vikings fans are trapped in a purgatory oscillating between “mediocre” and “pretty good”, with occasional visits up to “best in the league and swindled by bountygate or whatever”. Every season, half the fanbase is rooting for the other teams just so we can suck enough to force the “profit over success” owners (who are lifelong Giants fans) to get rid of Kirk Fucking Cousins, but it never happens. We’re 1-4, but I guarantee those assholes will figure out a way to pretty good their way to an 8-9 season, lose in the wildcard round, and draft 19th or whatever. It always happens. If you’re actually a Vikings fan you know it’s true. Mediocrity and Pretty Good forever. Skol.

I heard Kwesi tried to trade up for Anthony Richardson last year, so maybe we'll try to trade up for a QB even if we end up with the 10th pick or something. Then again the jury is still out on Kwesi too so 🤷

No matter how good they are, the can’t even GET TO the Super Bowl since the Tarkenton era, let alone win one. I’m still a glutton for punishment as a Bears fan (my 1st love), but at least they ride high or low and are not afraid of a rebuild. They just need the McCaskeys out of the way and stop sticking to the Halas philosophy of D first and a run-only offense, which they seem intent on with every head coach hire…..usually not at the GMs discretion.

I just always expect them to lose and then you have a season like last year or even this year where I begin to feel "hope" but I've learned to shut that shit down quick. Trust me, you're life can only improve if you don't have hope because when they win, you will feel joy but that lack of hope will prevent you from having your feelings destroyed.

I've honestly never felt so seen as a Giants fan. This is my exact emotional state. A little upset with them for giving us hope last season, but mostly used to this, and enjoying the other teams sucking. The one thing that's been haunting me lately tho is that like. Every team I'm a fan of won multiple championships in my *very* conscious memory before I was even 18(I'm 28 now). I can absolutely handle sucking for a bit but I can't fathom sucking for as long as.... ahem... some teams have/did. Like I can't wrap my head around it. Not in a jump ship way, I would never, it just hadn't even occurred to me as a possibility to suck for like, multiple decades- and I mean like even going multiple decades without winning a ring, not even like REALLY sucking losing record-not making the playoffs-type. I realized recently that that's a thing that could actually happen, not just a thing to make fun of *certain teams* and feel bad for other teams for. And then with equal horror realized I felt so bad for jets fans for all these years having the pats in their division, and the past 5 years (barring the one weird one), it's looked like philly might like.... consistently be a superbowl team for a while. I think I'd rather us suck for several decades than have philly be good for that long. But I'm also a Giants fan in philly, so. Anyway snf will be fun, over under on if we have any functioning qbs at the end?

@@MrTerikido you know anything about the lions history? ANYTHING? They have one playoff win in the super bowl era. One. No team has done worse than that. Every single one of those teams you mentioned has had a pretty significant playoff appearance in the last 6 years. Hell the jags made it to the afc championship. If its any team's time to shine, its Detroit.

What’s worse than being a fan of a bad team is being a fan of a team that is good enough to be in the playoff race every year and either just misses the playoffs or falls short in them.

Some years back when the Bills were looking for a new head coach, the name Marty Schottenheimer was brought up. He was dismissed due to his sub-standard playoff record. Which led me to ask' would you rather complain about a bad team, or a team that makes the playoffs, but never gets far? To be honest, I'd take the latter.
