I’m a new subscriber to your channel and I agree that the points you made in this video are true. And as a Nigerian who has been living here (same city as you ) for a decade and recently started a non-profit business helping newcomers in Canada, I understand where you are coming from personally. But i wouldn’t word it as living a Soft Life if it is based on getting tuition grants and loans (that a lot find difficult to get out of after school) from the Government especially when are you really new and haven’t pay into the tax system. These OSAP grants and loans come from tax payers money and videos/discussions like this has caused many Canadians in the country to believe immigrants only come into the country to take advantage of the system. I enjoyed all your videos i have watched though, keep up the good work.
@TomiAdenuga Жыл бұрын
Anyone who is here knows it is not Soft Life - it all depends on the way you look at it. It is also a ripple effect. It is a cycle, I pay taxes and my own taxes will also help some other people. Those who pay taxes today enjoyed some benefits previously, that is why the system works. People should learn to decipher through the lines and not just believe life should be handed over to them on a platter of Gold. This is 2023, we should know better.
@moeolaleye2893 Жыл бұрын
@@TomiAdenuga I agree it’s a ripple effect, but that doesn’t change the point I’m trying to pass. You’ve said before that people tell you Canada is not at all what it used to be and i can testify to that having been here for a decade. Many Canadians blame that on the immigrants which is not totally true, so they coming across content like this just confirms their belief. You stated that you haven’t worked a day since you arrived so you haven’t paid any income tax. Canadians will argue that they, their parents and grandparents have paid into the tax system before getting any benefit. So contents like this should be worded better so potential immigrants won’t see this as some sort of hack in the system when it really isn’t😊.

I got admission for business management and my husband nd kids are coming with me that's how they processed the Visa, so those it mean that it's going to be difficult for me to live in Canada
@moeolaleye2893 Жыл бұрын
@@lolocally5953 no not at all, i also came in 10 years ago as an international student and despite the less opportunities int’l students have then compared to now, my life was not difficult at all. So with proper research and planning, your transition to life in Canada should be a smooth one 😊.

@TomiAdenuga, your point is valid. However, I believe a more favourable alternative is to pursue free education. Secure a job (with your PR) and simultaneously study within your field. Often, employers may cover tuition costs, or they could supplement the remaining expenses through government grants on your behalf.

I don't usually respond to youtube post or video but I have to respond to your post on "Soft life inCanada. No job!No stress" because it is very misleading and not true. You are not being honest with your viewers. I have lived in the US for more than 2 decades. The USA and Canada are great countries, but there are no free lunches anywhere. You mentioned that you got a grant and a loan. Do you know the interest rates on that loan? Accruing credit card debt or living on sudent loans without a job is not the best way to start a life in Canada. I will advise you to invite people who have lived in Canada for 10 years and above to your youtube to give more accurate information to your audience than you just sugar coating what you have little information on. Living on student loans without a job is not the best way to start a life in Canada. A lot of Canadian are complaining of very high cost of living and longer wait time to have a primary doctor and high taxes, and you are giving aspiring immigrants an impression that it is rosy and easy and people can get free stuff. Someone paid 30%, 40% 50% or more of their hard earned salary for these so-called grants and child care..this is one of the reason people making high salary do not want to stay in Canada anymore. Additionally, in one of your posts on starting a business in Canada for a new arrival/immigrants. Believe me, if it was easy as you painted in your post, every corner in Canada will be filled with businesses/companies. What you don't understand is that you need money to incorporate and start a business . Based on statistics on the business startup success rate, 95 % of business startup fails in the first 5 years. Therefore, for new immigrants who are struggling to get and pay for rent, utilities,groceries, and so on, you painted it as if it is easy to just come, start a business and everything will be fine. It is very misleading and outright wrong. Even if you as an immigrant come with millions of dollars to start a business, it will still take time to get all the paperwork, office, or store front ready, and all these involve initial capital. While waiting for all this stuff, your bills are not waiting. Both the USA and Canada are great country but you have to pass through the proces as a legal immigrants: get a job---even if it is not your desire job at the start, go to school for job that are in high demand and if possible pay your tuition fees as you attends classes if you could and avoid living on student loan if possible, if not, it will affects your finances later on. If you depend too much on government help/benefit, you are limiting your opportunity to succeed or greatness because that will keep you having that sense of entitlement and may suppress your creativity. Please be truthful to your audience. There's no free lunch anywhere. This so-called grants and child care benefits are paid for by high taxation on hardworking Canadians. One of the reasons people are depressed and not happy as my Canadian friend told me. Imagine you work hard, and the government is taking away 30, 40 to 50% of your money depending on your income.

Hey! I have Goodnews for you Dearie👌 The Good News is that God's promise of entering his place of rest still stands. It was announced to us just as it was to some people of old. But it did them no good because they didn't believe what God told them. They couldn't enter because of disobedience and unbelief. This is a call to enter into God's rest, so what is stopping you ? Is it disobedience? Jesus has been made a sin offering, he died already, allow him into your heart so you can find rest from your labour. This load is too heavy for you to carry, let him help you. Another Goodnews is that he is the only God that forgives and forgets (Heb 10:17, Heb 4 "I will never again remember their sins and lawless deeds.") saith the Lord. He is knocking, allow him today.😊
