The crime rate in Canada has risen in the past years. So please don't walk around as if Canada is paradise. Watch your step, if someone confront you, don't argue too much with them. Run for your life in situation when you find yourself being confronted. A lot of people are battling mental health problem due to high rate of depression and suicides in Canada. Stay safe and open your eyes. If you have any property in Nigeria, don't sell it before you travel. Be wise. I left Canada for Nigeria last year after 20 years of back and forth.
