Thanks Tommi. Interesting project. Nicely done and well explained. I think I would not have as much decoration on one that I do, not to distract from photo. Loved the idea of roundover for inner part to draw eye in.

Hi Tomislav, that’s a lovely looking picture frame simple yet elegant! You’ve just provided me with a great way to get rid of lots of segmented pieces I have, thanks for another well executed video. Take care, Wayne

I was making my first plate and cut a little deep. What I had after that looked just like your picture frame. My wife saw it and had me sand it up and installed a picture. 😀

What a clever way to use some scrap. Thanks for this video. Really helps show that every turning does not have to be large or complicated to look nice and be usable.

Sometimes on smaller stuff there are less room for error and it can be difficult to design, so its always a good practice to start small☺️

Great idea for off cuts. I'm still learning, I tried to sand without moving the rest ... I'll be back at it when my finger heals up. 😖
@tomislavtomasicwoodturning
@tomislavtomasicwoodturning 15 күн бұрын
You can move the rest when sanding,I would not move it if I'm on some sort of production run, not moving can save time but for pieces like this just move it and sometimes its even better as you have more room to move around. Hope that makes sense. Enjoy turning and thank you for watching

Another great project to try, thank you. I have made picture frames just using a screw chuck and turning the face then V grove 2/3rds thru before reversing and coming in from the back but this is much nicer. Thank you

That looks very nice, and some good tips and techniques as always. But I have to admit I was hoping you'd take out the centre and make a plug for the hole and create a small two-coloured bowl. Thanks for another excellent and educational video.

The grain lines of the discs appeared to about 45 degrees different. Is that orientation important? And, I just bought a cheap clock today and I was thinking of doing this same idea to replace the plastic case. That's how to make a $5 clock into a $25 clock.
@tomislavtomasicwoodturning
@tomislavtomasicwoodturning 15 күн бұрын
Its alinge the same way, that way grain goes in same direction.... And its nive and stable for frame. You can use a clock as well, I'll be doing a video soon on that as well
