I remember doing my zippers this way when I first started sewing 50 odd years ago. Thank-you.

I appreciate your tutorial is in a real garment, not just a sample piece of fabric.

That was brilliant! I've been sewing seriously for over a year and avoid zips at all costs! I think you've just given me the confidence to have a go....Thank you so much.

Thanks for sharing these zip tutorials. I've learned so many of these years ago from Kenneth King and Janet Pray, but always learning updated methods. You did a fantastic job on showing this method and adding the waistband. I know so many new sewers will learn and be amazed at how easy it is!

That was fantastic. That was so good to learn as l dont like zips going up to the top of the waistband either.

Great choice--the slot zipper--for medium to heavy bottomweight fabrics. Thank you, Whitney. ~ L

I always have issues sewing around the zipper pull. However buying a longer zip and cut it at the top is such a clever idea. Thanks so much ❤️❤️❤️

I often move a zip from the back to. a side seam of a dress because I find it difficult these days to do up a back zip without help.( I also have to do up my bra at the front and swivel it round these days too - but that's another story 😀). So yes please, any tips on inserting a side zip in a dress (with a lining if possible) would be helpful.

Ok! I can tackle that!

I stopped using invisible zippers because I prefer the stronger "regular" zipper. My preference is side zip with lap zipper. Even on backs, I have started using lap zippers more after seeing it as common in vintage patterns.

The lapped zippers are so classic! I’m doing one of those next week!

Due to some spine issues caused by osteoporosis (not truly serious) I am leaning toward omitting CB seams, adding fish eye darts and moving zipper to the side seam. I have repaired and replaced side zippers in vintage dresses, but could I use invisible zippers?
@TomKatStitchery3 жыл бұрын
Yes, you can definitely use invisible zippers on your side seam!
