Some great tips there Tom. I have a second mark on the sheet which I use for the reaching legs. I also use the small Shocks for the 2:1 on the jib halyard by tying in a Shock 20cm above the cleat. And also to replace the front blocks on the 2015 Weta tramp ties which attach to the carbon pads bonded to the deck. The supplied blocks have a sharp edge which cuts into the lashing (and into you if you sit on one). I think that Weta should replace all their pulley fittings with Shocks where possible.

Just run the dyneema through and around the block and footman loop on the mast three or so times and tie off with a handful of half-hitches.

Great ideas. I am new to Weta a bought a second hand boat and I think the sheets have been shortened. What are optimal lengths for the sheets and do you join mainsheet to jib sheet? How do you connect gennaker and jib sheets to respectve clews?

On the Weta Marine website, they have an area called "owner's locker" which has documentation on all parts and pieces for the boat, which include their recommended sheet lengths. On my jib, I attach the middle of the sheet to the jib clew clew via a butterfly knot with sailrite stamped shackle. The ends run out to the cleats and then across and are tied off to the opposing tramp rail on the middle strap handle. This ensures the jib sheet is always right where you need it from inside the cockpit to hiked out on the rail. The screecher sheet is tied to the screecher and run around in a loop, outside of everything else, and then back to the screecher where it is tied again. Use a couple of figure 8 knots to secure it.
