Mate! I can safely speak for the rest of us by saying that we'd watch hours of this. 20 mins isn't long. When the Cat stopped and just stood in it, I roared laughing. The other advantage I can see of the volumetric mix is that driver isn't champing at the bit to just dump the load and go so placement is less rushed and needs fewer bodies.

The cat loves the concrete 😂. I always wanted to drive my machine with my feet but it was too dangerous as I only had one leg 😂. You can imagine the mess I would of made. You may of had to wait an but I think that’s a better way to mix the concrete, no waste.

Problem with a barrel mixer is the cement heats ups it mixes and can kick off randomly on you and if you have two trucks come the hot cement from the first truck can chemically set off the new batch. You really have to keep on top of it. And often, in order to get it to flow, it’s quite wet. We don’t have volumetric mixers In Maine. But I sure wish we did!

The Americans put preemptive cuts or lines in the freshly poured concrete to control cracking. Do you do it in England too?

The floor in the grain store has these grooves and typically, yes. I remember watching this in Diesel Creek's video of his workshop floor. I'm not a concrete expert and am unsure when these are let in but I'd imagine the floor has to be fairly set and hard. Hopefully Tom will mention these in the next vid?

I've seen in the comments that you don't usually do fibre-reinforced or rebar. I also noticed no relief cuts and no tying it in with the neighbouring slabs. Have you ever had any problems when you've done similar pours?

Usually just use fibres rarely use mesh and the cuts will be done in the next video Never had any problems

I think the cat likes messing with you! About the concrete, I would think that you have more time to work it because it is mixed just because it is put in place. I seem to recall something about the 3 “Heats” that concrete goes through. Normally the first heat happens during the delivery time and would only have 2 heats remaining. I’m probably not remembering that correctly. Ron
