With this 4 channel radio from WPL you can now fit the 2 speed box and shift, you also have the option of full working lights, indicators, brakes etc...

I know this seems a bit spammy, but I think I found a possible solution to the speaker interference issue that seems to plague the sound kit. If you go to my KZbin channel I have just completed a video detailing the fix. Hope this helps. 👍👍👍🙌👍👍👍

Yes, I mentioned on a comment earlier, they are doing a really good job of filling the gap between cheap toy grade and expensive hobby grade. There stuff may not be the very best out there, but it's really nice to have RC trucks and accessories that don't cost the earth!

Yeah sounds good shutting down :) I think there are shifting sounds and turn signal sounds as well, but I have not got it all wired in.

Speaker looks the same as the Heng Long speakers Have you done any upgrades like adding LEDs, new receiver and transmitter that isn't WPL for these trucks?

Great videos by the way! I've recently fitted this sound kit but the truck seems to have a massively reduced run time. The truck just stops and the headlights flash? Any ideas. 😣

Cheers dude. Sounds like you may be loosing signal if the head lights are flashing? Have you tired a different battery? Or disconnect and re connect all the plugs.

@@TomleyRC read the description on eBay for just the control board an it say it has Lipo protection, could this be it? I'm using uprated nmhd batteries at the moment but they aren't lasting very long. Love the sound kit though when it's running. Thanks for then reply by the way.

@@TomleyRC ok just made a rudamentry li-ion battery out some old laptop batteries and it works. Must have a low battery function on the board and when you put the old 6v NiMH battery in it doesn't take long for it to flag up a low voltage protection! Which if you read the spec sheet is 6v! 😮

Hello i have got a problem with sound , when i drive back everythins sounds good but when i drive forward the sound is like 1-0-1-0-1-0 only on slow speed works fine but when i drive faster sound is not smooth difficult to explain but its not continous like it should be can be this that i havent got a capacitor or what isthe name of this small thing that people solder to the engine ? Before i also made a speciall isolation for the speaker cable from aluminium tape and this fixed the problem but it came when i fully charge the battery ? I dont know but it looks like there is some issue with radio-engine waves ??

Hi, mine only works several days, and now I can't move forward and reverse, the servo and sound still there and still have sound just like when I push the level down and up. I checked the pcb but nothing is wrong with it. Does anyone have similar problem?

Hello sir, may I know what battery you are using? Is this receiver kit applicable on jjrc q60?

7.4v Li-Ion, the stock B24ZH battery. You should be able to fit this kit to a JJRC Q60 👍

@@TomleyRC Thank you so much! But jjrc comes with a 6v 5c 700mah battery. Will that battery be appropriate for the job? Or will it blow up the receiver? Coz I have already burned 2 receivers and could not make heads or tails about where I went wrong.

This may run with 6v, but I've not tried it. Sometimes you need to make sure the cables/connections are the correct way around (polarity), JJRC are sometimes the opposite way around to the rest of the 1/16 trucks.

Hello. I bought two of those kits and i just installed one of them on my WPL truck. I do not have the problem with the near to motor speaker, but on my both kits it seems that the sound is not clear and a bit blurry. Sounds like the speakers are too cheap or something... What about yours?

The speakers are from the Heng Long Tanks, I'm not sure if you can get upgraded speakers. Mine is ok, but I know what you mean about a bit blurry,. 👍

@@TomleyRC I will try with other speakers from a laptop (harmon kardon) and see if it is the speaker or the sound from the module.

I tried with harmon kardon speakers and the sound is the same - blurry and not clear at all. Sounds like an old tape player :) When the speaker is hooked up the two capacitors next to the jack are getting really hot. When i unplug the speaker they are OK. I suppose those are not well calculated and if i play for a while with the sound they will blow up. Maybe i can try to replace them with bigger ones or just test by touching on the back side another capacitor and see if the sound will get clearer. Any suggestions?

When WPL sent me the kit to test, I asked them about the Speaker connector, and they said it would be changed before production....may be you got an early one? Do none of the plugs fit?

@@TomleyRC fits only from gearbox servoand steering servo , rest of them dont fit i am dissapointed but now i ordered connectors as i found out it shoul be : 2.0 PH 2-Pins Mini Micro JST

This diesel engine sound it wrong. GAZ 66 engine its a 5.2 L gasoline V8.

It's a shame that little sound kits will never be able to reproduce the low bass sounds of 1:1 trucks. Algorithms have made many auditory illusions in stereo separation possible but the tiny speakers in sound kits simply can't move enough air to provide the deep throbbing of a truck engine, nor the dynamic range, making them perpetually sound like toys. That's why I'll probably never install sound kits in my rigs. Having said that, just listening to the samples is pretty cool, otherwise. Recordings have gotten better & better and I'd love to see the studios where they can record a full-sized truck inside an acoustically 'dry' room!

Yes, never going to be real scale.... but this helps being in the rear bed, does sound better in real life...but still not as good as I'd like. You need a nice heavy diesel sound...like a big Cummins
