I love the Lone Wolf devices in my pedal chain. Wouldn't trade them for any other pedals. i especially love the Boogieman that does so much for my music. Made in America!

Great info ! Thanks for posting this video!! I like your mic .. and the pedal board !! In fact.. I've been curious about it. I use a Shure 520D Green Bullet and a Fender Pro Junior amplifier when I want the greasy blues sound, but feedback can be a problem if I turn up too loud. For a cleaner sound I use an SM57 through the PA system. Your rig is better for sure!!

Great review ! Have you tought about adding EQ pedal eventually ? The mic is a Ultimate 545 btw. ;-)

Thanks you for the info about the mic Didi. I probably won't add an EQ pedal simply because the Boss MS-3 has an EQ built in if I want to use it.

Tomlin, thanks for this great vid , and info,. It does help my learning curve concerning all this stuff. I'm curious though, as to what triggered you to choose the Harp Attack over the Harp Break. I'm under the impression both pedals provide effects of a distorted tube amp to some degree. So what is it about the Harp Attack ? Yea, more vids, on this stuff would be great. Seems, all this electronics can be as in depth as learning the harmonica. Thanks Tomlin.

To be honest I've never heard of the Harp Break which is why I haven't tried it. Ronnie Shellist told me to buy a Harp Attack because he thought I would love it and he was right :-). I'm now intrigued by the Harp Break though. Although I'm not sure I'm really interested in something that is specifically an overdrive pedal.

Hello tomlin, are you using a hi-z microphone or transformer or just going low z? I use a similar rig with an audix fireball and a hi-z transformer and sometimes run into feedback problems when going into the PA

Great channel Tomlin, what's your favorite harmonica that you like to play on stage?
@TomlinHarmonica
@TomlinHarmonica 4 жыл бұрын
Hi Chris, I'm glad you like the channel! My favourite harmonicas on stage are a Seydel 1847 or Hohner Crossover/Marine Band Deluxe currently. It changes from time to time. I go through periods of playing Suzukis as well :-)

Thanks for the video. I see that you put the Bulletini away for this video. Mic and effects combinations do make a huge difference. Are you getting less feedback going through the mixer rather than your amp? Also, as you mentioned, you can get your tone all dialed in at home, and it completely changes at the venue. I absolutely agree that if the tone sounds good coming through the monitors that it gives a great confidence boost to my playing.

Thanks for this, I think. Now I’m obsessively researching various components to build my own. Never considered an effects board as an amp replacement. I really like the idea that this could give a more driven sound at a lower volume for practice. I do have a question. Will something like this give a reasonably decent representation of the sound you’d get through the PA when going through headphones? Forgive me if this is a rookie question and thanks in advance for any input.
@TomlinHarmonica

That's a great question Walter. Yes, this is a reasonable representation of the sound you would get through a PA :-)

I'm an advanced beginner - maybe lower intermediate player, but do feel that maybe some form of amplification is something i would like so i can get the more bluesy sounds i really want to be able to achieve even though i'm not performing anywhere. Have you any tips for making that first step into amplification?
@TomlinHarmonica
@TomlinHarmonica 4 жыл бұрын
Hi Calum, I would suggest an Astatic JT-30 microphone and a Roland Cube amplifier. You will need to practice your hand position a lot to get the overdriven tone but it is worthwhile :-)

@@TomlinHarmonica , Thanks for the quick reply, and all the help you provide through the videos. The Astatic JT-30? A quick G**gle search suggests these are vintage and not very easy to come by - or am i looking at the wrong thing?

Brilliant Thanks for sharing Harp Attack for sure, I was probably going to add a little delay or reverb also from lone wolf You prefer the Boss can you explain why you went with Boss and and not lone wolf. Sounds brilliant by the way And even better live I remain inspired
@TomlinHarmonica
@TomlinHarmonica 4 жыл бұрын
Hi Andy, glad you enjoyed it. To be honest the Boss is more versatile for me. It means I can create patches for guitar or harmonica. I've not tried the Lone Wolf Delay or Reverb but Boss is the industry standard for those kinds of effects. Finally, the Boss was a lot cheaper than all the individual effects that I would have to buy combined :-)

Do you have any issues with microphone feedback? If you do what do you use to manage it?
@TomlinHarmonica
@TomlinHarmonica 4 жыл бұрын
Hi Robert, great question. No, is the quick answer. Generally, if you are having feedback it either means you are too close to your amp or it is too loud. I would recommend turning the volume down on your microphone when you are not playing and make sure you are not standing directly in front of the amp.
