everybody in the frame in front of him too, not just her. there's a few other boards you can see during that bit, and every one of them is doing it. I admit, I do it too once i get to a certain part of the line. it's easier to maneuver around sometimes, and I prefer it for when i actually sit onto the lift. but for covering larger distances, definitely skate/push from the heel side.

There’s nothing wrong with pushing on the toe edge. It depends on whatever feels most comfortable. Just like riding regular or goofy.

@@alejandromut Unless you're riding with a really big angle on your front foot, pushing from the toe edge puts way more strain on your knee and hips, because you have to rotate your body considerably more to be able to push.

I've been riding 125/year since the mid 80's, skiing way before that. This year I taught ski/ride for a ski school(1st time) and watched vids for affirmations and ways to explain points to raw beginners etc. Yours worked best for me. I make commercial rafting vids in the summer, I know the time and energy it takes so I tell all my students to "look up Tommy Bennett tonight" as a payback and my next goggles will be yours. Thanks.

Your tip about strapping on standing is OUTSTANDING (pun intended).. at the end of a full day of boarding, what sapped my energy the most was sitting down strapping my boots into the harness and then getting back up.. Because everytime I fell, I always just try to fall on my back.. so that push back up... the more times I did it during the day, the harder it became.. If I can get off the lift and then strap up standing up, then that one less push up!! Your tip made perfect sense. I am gonna try it next time I go! Thanks heaps.

You forgot to put the person you referenced at like 2:15ish in the description, just a heads up. Also, since I'm already writing a comment ill take the opportunity to say; I truly appreciate all the educational content you make bro. Thanks to channels like yours, Malcom Moore, SnowboardProCamp, and others, I believe I have been able to progress at snowboarding exponentially faster than I would otherwise be able to. (This next part may be long, I ramble and would consider the rest purely optional reading) I started about 5 weeks ago(Jan 14th) and I've already started having days where I can just stop thinking and flow down the mountain, which is when any skill you're learning really comes into its full potential of fun in my experience. I'm lucky in that I am working at a mountain this winter for the first time, and so I got a free season pass and have been able to snowboard 3-5 days per week since I started. I've found a new passion(obsession) with snowboarding, and also, for the first time in my life, found a reason to enjoy... maybe even love, winter. It's very exciting, I still have SO MUCH to learn, and I know how to make it possible(working at a mountain during the winter), so I've got years of fulfilling skill building ahead of me. Working to master a skill you truly enjoy and are passionate about is the most fulfilling activity I've found upon this earth so far, and I'm so excited to have found that snowboarding is one of those things for me. I'm gushing, but I think you will understand. Cheers bro, and may the powder find us all... or "we all find powder"? Idk, I'm going to admit I'm a tad stoned at the moment, which will help explain my comment... maybe.

In your video, you asked viewers to put down the tip they thought was best. I can't do that. I found every single one of your tips to be useful. I did a little snowboarding back when I was stationed in CA. That was from 01 to 07. I haven't been back on the snow since I was injured on my last deployment back in 05. I retired to AZ in 12 and I'm trying to get back on the board. The trouble is I wasn't very good when I was young and healthy. Now in 51 and disabled. Do you have any advice for someone like me? Im actually taking the beginners snowboarding class at the AZ Snowbowl this coming Wednesday. I have back issues, I have a torn LCL in my right knee and a torn MCL in my right knee. I also have a torn rotator cuff in my left shoulder. I have had a few surgeries to correct my issues but I started saying no after the 9th or 10th. I don't remember. I really could use it and would be extremely grateful for any information, tips, and or recommendations you can give me. Even if it's just to tell me to give up the dream and do something else more in tune with my current physical ability. I have a lot of problem areas. The first is with strapping in. I tried strapping in from a seated position, but very quickly realized once I was strapped in I couldn't get back up. So for that, I picked up a set of step-in bindings. That with the tip I just got from this video, digging a little pocket to keep the board in place is now committed to my long-term memory. I may forget my birthday and me and my wife's anniversary date, but this tip is staying with me. The other big problem I have is with speed. What can I do to start slower than I do now? Is there anything I can put on my board to slow it down so I'm not so freaked while I'm trying to learn? I'm terrible with direction changes. So I mostly end up going too fast and panic. I just don't feel like I have any control at all. Being out of control is 100% new to me. It's definitely a new sensation, it kinda tingles, but not in a good way. So my question is do you know of anything I can do to slow my board down? Just while I'm learning. I would be over the moon if I could just get to the level of riding you did in this video. I don't want to go bombing down the run or hit rails and fun boxes. I just want to do what you did in this video. If you could help me even a little, I would be extremely grateful. Also if you know of anything I could be doing on the off-season, I would greatly appreciate that info as well. I hope you're able to read this. My apologies for making it so drawn out. I very much enjoyed your video. You have a gift for taking a complicated tasks and explaining them in a way that's very easy to understand. If a Grunt can understand what you are saying, anyone can. Besides all the information you are putting out, your videos also have great editing, and the filming was spot on. Just an outstanding job to you and your crew. I look forward to hearing from you. But I also completely understand if you're not able to. I will keep watching your videos and check out your catalog. I am willing to bet it's full of great information. Much respect to you 🙏. Putting this information out for all to see is promoting the sport and helping keep people safe in the process. Again, much respect 🙏, and my gratitude.
