I remember listening to this song the first night I moved into my own place. My apartment was pretty much still empty, save for a lounge chair and a mini fridge. Listening to this with a cold beer, staring into the balcony (which overlooked a bunch of other buildings). It was beautiful and something I'll hold near to my heart.

Something you gave me I focused on A hundred moments 'ready sewn Into my memory But you still can't lose though The time it grows I know you like to take it slow But I got to know That's why you've got to come here alone Easy to find me I'll take you to The moments that you've never known Keep for the future Maybe we will stay here Maybe somewhere close But I'm never sure where you will go So I've got to know That's why you've got to come here alone

Once every couple of months, I take a walk through my city at night to this song. I think what makes this song so fitting to the night is the ambient sounds and the harmonious voice in the background slowly soothing our mind. It's the type of sound that makes you lose track of your troubles and realize the great that you have. Songs that are capable of evoking such emotion like this are rare. Towards the end, the guitar mixed with the ambient city-scape sounds with, once again, the voice in the background, the rhythmic beat then the slow fade to the xylophone (or glockenspiel?) and then the sirens to finish it off. It ends as it has started. A dreaming beginning - A realizing middle (Sam Wills' voice) - a dreaming end.

There was a moment where I thought I would lose my girlfriend. Things weren’t going right and I gave her the decision as to whether or not we should call it off. I took her as my date to my aunties wedding and asked if they could play our song, the night was crazy and unfortunately we didn’t get time to dance. However I went to her house later that night and we talked and cried and laughed. I thought it was goodbye, and then I pulled out my phone and played our song. As we danced and smiled at each other it was at that moment we decided we would stay together and love each through it all. We’ve decided that this will be our wedding song! It’s different but it’s a memory we will cherish for a lifetime. Thank you Tom Misch for this beautiful piece ❤️🔥

I play Tom Misch and Robert Glasper when I drive for Lyft or when I am chilling, and I find you both to be musical geniuses.
