When emotions running high, common sense is at a all time low is no joke and true. That's the reason so many bad things happen because people react after 2 seconds without realizing the ramifications.

Right. They don't think. Your entire could be over in a flash of 5 minutes. Either you get killed, or you go to prison for killing someone in the heat of the moment. And idle WORDS are never worth that. Did they hit you first? No? So move the hell on then.

I totally agree. He did amazing job. He didn't bash him like I feel alot other celebrities did. I heard alot of different celebrities speak so nasty of him after this and that proves to me that hate is very real, even among celebrities. They probably been had insides for Will Smith it's just now they can let it really show now that they feel his life and career is over. But wat God has for you can no man take away.

The most overblown incident of our time. Will calmly walks on stage to the podium. Then, raises his palm high in the air, elbow out as if to say "here it comes", then "slaps" Rock. Just like WWF or WWE smack. Loud for effect but not to cause injury. "Wow" Rock lets out. Then Will goes back to his seat.😐 If Will bum rushed the stage, stole Rock in his face, kicked and pummeled him til security dragged him off stage, now that would be another something else. Real shit though and I’ve asked this. If it were a white comedian or an actor he knows if from the streets, would he have reacted the same way? I highly doubt it.

You think that's real? Do you think a white man would have hosted the Oscars in 2016 to tell Will Smith his wife wasn't invited? Fast forward to 2022 and the same corporate comedian disparages his wife in front of his face. You know the same punk ass that has a book about black hair. Chris Rock is corporate and he's a long way from his HBO specials. There was a movement for the black elite in Hollywood because the award show didn't recognize their work. Black elite said don't show up and white corporate said we're going to get Chris Rock because he's a sellout. The only problem is he should have slapped them a long time ago. Just because you will jingle and sing and dance for the white man doesn't mean everybody will. At least if you do it don't disparage someone else that is black and has a black family but here's your dollar so start to move and I'll tell you how high

If it were white? Have we ever seen a white presenter ever make fun of the bodily appearance of a White woman at the Oscars sitting with her husband and children?

I was in a comedy club in the late 90s in Raleigh, NC and went to the bathroom and there stood Tommy Davidson. I said good set man and he said "appreciate it". Then I said "R KELLY" and peed on his shoes. The last part might not be true.

He is so right about if it was Fiddy, or even Martin Lawrence, Will would not have slid them. Folks know who NOT to hit for fear of retaliation. Chris is not a fighter, it is what it is. It was still dirty and low down though period. A spoken verbal JOKE is never worth that. Only some bum putting their hands on you is when you should physically defend yourself. Can't always wait for the slow cops to get there.

One of the best this is the most intellectual conversation I've ever heard about this incident and it's exactly what I was thinking when I first saw the incident in question you can't just look at it like who's at fault you got to ask why before anything else or else pretty sure Bill Burr did a segment on that why can't you ask questions and I think that sentiment applies in this scenario as well

Understood about his emotions being "high" but they seemed to be on a "positive" high before the announcement of his win . . . and then they changed on a dime right after the side eye. That seems closer to a person out of control, more like a mental disposition. No one shifts that quickly and maintains total control. That's too extreme inside a very small space in time.

Correct, Will knew Chris was an easy target & that "society" isn't shocked to expect male, black on black violence. I know Will's high intelligent, calculated & meticulous thought process, because he explained it in his book, edited it, & narrated it himself. As Chris's joke wasn't that insulting, and could've actually been taken seriously enough to lead to an actual "GI Jane" role for Jada, the person Will should've really cursed out was Amy Shumer, who said "Will lets men run in & out of his wife like a convenience store" (something to that affect). So, in my opinion, Will still took the coward's way by choosing an easy target, even though he's been fighting his self-professed cowardice all of his life.

I don’t think there would have been a slap or anything if it were Will defending Will that Oscar night,, It was Will at his highest in his career in his life journey,, the night he spent so many years working for,,He finally achieved it! A Oscar that no one should be able to take away from him! He earned it! Denzel was so right at his highest moments Satan did come for him but I don’t know if Will has even noticed that Satan has been there and was there in a green dress, that looked terrible on her,, dress so long Will had to worry about the train of the dress like it was her wedding dress! She had to make the night all about herself as usual,, no need to spend 0$$ on a wig no not any hair since she’s so upset about her baldness! I’ve not seen any sign of Alopecia by a hair tract problem and 269,000 on a dress that she couldn’t even sit beside her husband on his night not even comfortably because of the dress!that was too much dress for her small frame! Since the slap was to defend her that has never needed any defending, but she had to take a simple compliment a joke that required her rolling her eyes at her husband that was laughing but seeing her laugh go west the hoodoo witchcraft look she gave Will with the evil eyes saying to him oh don’t get up and go defend me oh no but just wait and see what lies I’m going to start telling on you my husband oh good lies ones nobody will ever think of until I taunt you with them all making life a nightmare for this man until she’s made a broken man a broken Will! she’s evil and needs to publicly also with Will apologize to Chris
