I remember a Real Demo at my local shop in Chantilly, Virginia in the winter of 1989, I think. It was the first tour they did. The shop had no ramps set up or anything, so the team went to an underground parking garage and skated WITH all of us young skate rats instead of performing for us like celebrities, and it was one of the raddest things of my youth. I know Thiebaud was there. Not sure if Tommy was there, but it was great. BTW, this video really made my day. It was one of the hardest days I've had in a long while, and to come home to this interview really made me cheer up. Thank you Nine Club.

Lol, I started skating before I started playing basketball. I didn't even know Air Jordan was a real person. I didn't even know Jordan's were a sub- brand of Nike. I saw Chin and was like, "what are those, they're so cool!" Then it all started to come together. I started playing basketball about a year later and that's when I figured out Michael Jordan and Air Jordan were the same person. And then the funniest part of this all is that my parents were so cheap I never even got a pair. I actually just had regular Air Force 1s that I colored with markers in red blue black and whatever. Thirty years later, I've still never owned a pair of Jordan's.
