Lasse Holm has written 5 songs that has won Melodifestivalen and competed in Eurovision (in 1986 he competed as a main singer as well, together with Monica Törnell), unfortunately not this one, but it became a bit of a comedy hit in Sweden, and you can still hear it now and again. Rumor has it that Lasse was asked to write something in Italian for a TV-show, but since he didn't know Italian, he just listed menu items from a pizzeria. Tommy replaced some of the lyrics to lyrics in English.

"Cannelloni, macaroni" is a song written by Lasse Holm, and recorded by him and released as a single in 1986.[1] The melody was tested on the Svensktoppen where it was for 13 weeks that year during the period 18 May-12 October 1986.[2] The song, which was also performed on the TV show Razzel, was originally written in English, but arranger Lennart Sjöholm wanted it to be in Italian as it had arias. Lasse Holm then went to various pizzerias and read menus of Italian dishes. Bert Karlsson wanted to include the song in Melodifestivalen, which never happened, and the song became popular in pizzerias. A lavish video, though rarely shown, was also recorded. Four lifting cranes were used, and the camera panned over long dining tables where Lasse Holm stood and sang in a white suit. The video received an award in England for "worst video ever".[3] In a commercial for Adressändring, Lasse Holm claims that he came up with the text when he received a flyer from a pizzeria and thought it was a song text that he had ordered.[4] The soprano Åse Enhamre also participated in the recording.[5] The song is also used in the film Sune i fjällen from 2014

That must have been really confusing for you. This song was a big part of my childhood. Excellent material to begin with, and Tommy did not disappoint. This was made for Eurovision Song Contest (and it did OK if memory serves me right) and I think it tried to exploit the massive explosion of pizza restaurants (at least in Sweden). Very quirky song even back then, but the duo(?) behind this song was a real powerhouse of the Swedish pop music scene at the time.
