The solo is another loved song "Idas sommarvisa" I don't know if you've heard of Astrid Lindgren (She wrote Pippi Longstocking) But she also wrote about Emil. Ida is Emils little sister.

A typical midsummer celebration is with our family and relatives. We eat herring, eggs, potatoes with cream as sauce. Beer and schnapps/vodka while singing drinking-songs are common too and dancing round the midsummer-pole.

A very good translation except for one word. A 'lid' is not suffering in this context. It's an old word for a slope or a brink. Makes more sense,placed next to a meadow or field. Happy Midsummer.
