I'm slightly obsessed with Tommy. Luckily, for him, I'm 65 and recognize it's s pipe dream. Still, it's good to feel all fluttery and giggly from time to time :) Love your reactions!

Hi Debbie, Great reaction as always. About the new headphones: It is great if they provide a better sound for you, but they disturb your beauty a bit. Anyway, we are here for the music. ANC means Active (or Adaptive) Noise Cancellation, which means the louder your surroundings are, the more the headphones try to filter out those outside noises. But if you are in a relative quiet room I would turn it off, just because this feature needs more power. And since these are wireless headphones, power saving is an issue here, cause you have to recharge the headphones more often. And this might lead to a reduced battery life... Hope this helps a bit. With love from Germany, Wolfgang

'Heavy metal' is the umbrella term for the metal music genres including 'Power metal'. 'Power metal' is characterized by being fast and uplifting kind of metal. Not so heavy. It is music that will make you feel empowered and happy! 😀

Ah! Good to know. (A must to comprehend what's going on). Lol (I didn't realize I didn't) 😖
@louey2x Жыл бұрын
ANC button is Active Noise Cancellation so you mostly don't hear anything outside the headphones like a phone ringing, etc. If your surroundings are quiet you shouldn't need it unless you need to keep an ear out for something in the house. I honestly don't know what's better, Tommy or your reaction to Tommy 🤣

Power metal is basically just heavy metal...usually with high vocals and a lot of fast double bass drums. Helloween, Blind Guardian & Gamma Ray are some of the originators of the power metal genre, although all three can also be considered classic metal or true metal...all these genre names are a bit much at times, but it helps give the listeners an idea of what they're getting into before they even hear the band. Majestica and Sabaton are both considered power metal, but their sounds are quite different from each other (well, the Metal Archives call Majestica "symphonic" power metal, so there's that bit to differentiate them I guess lol. There are tons of sub-genres of metal. Anyways, Tommy is da man! Great metal cover of a pop rock song. Cheers!

Another guy you need to check out is Leo Moracchioli at Frog Leap Studios. He does some great metal covers of classic rock songs and pop songs, Sultans of Swing, Africa, Bad Romance, Eye of the Tiger, Dance Monkey. Everything sounds better with a little metal added.

Debbie did you know that this original song was written bybthe same composer who wrote Meatloaf's Bat Outta Hell record? And...the song is a vampire love song! Not joking! Read the words again... I don't know if Tommy knows this... Tmrw Tommy is posting the 1st of 2 "making of" videos for the set up of his livestream event. Should be very fun! Check his channel tmrw!

@@thequestionqueensThere's a reason it was one of the five best selling albums for over three decades.... There are some "radio edit" versions of some of them. Please avoid those if you do decide to listen to it. Hacking a 6 or 7 minute song down to 3 minutes for the "hard of concentrating" is never going to be a good thing for the original integrity of the piece.

You commented that you didn't know how he could sing all the parts himself. I'm pretty sure he is playing most of the instruments himself as well. Well, the answer is the wondrous world we now live in. With a computer and some specialized software, anyone can record their voice or them playing an instrument as a "track". Then you play it back while you listen and sing or play some other element, which is also recorded. What you end up with are a bunch of tracks that can be played back simultaneously, with the ability to get the various tracks synchronized with each other just right. Throw in some video camera shots and you have your own music video starring you as a one person band. In the cover that Floor Jansen does of "Oblivion", you can see her computer in the background with this kind of software on it. There a many, many YT channels featuring one or two person bands that have _way_ more elements in them than can be played at once. One of my favorites is Chase Holfelder. He has some songs he has done that were originally recorded in a major key, which he has shifted to a minor key. Very interesting, and perhaps reaction worthy: kzbin.info/aero/PLopRD35JBnCmSPq7Yco_n-OP6gwoUck70

Ok, so you can never say you've never heard of other types of metal. There is: Heavy Metal, of course, and Hair, Thrash, Speed, Power, Black, Death, Dark, Doom, Screamo, (dark and doom, I would imagine you want to stay away from...might be a little rough on you), Nu, Sludge, Metalcore, Deathcore, Industrial, Progressive, and of course, Symphonic. There are other genres and sub genres, but this list ought to give you and idea about how many types there are. Black, Death, Dark, and Doom are about subjects you probably aren't interested in, like Satan and death. If you're interested, though, try Gorgoroth or Mayhem. Behemoth actually simulates satanic black masses at their shows. If you have any interest, check out the movie "Lords of Chaos". It is about Mayhem, the beginning of Norwegian Black Metal, and the church burnings in Norway in the 1990's. Now, you might like Ghost. They sound like if Black Sabbath and ABBA got married, had a baby and named it Blue Oyster Cult. No screaming or thrashing. The music is very 80's actually, but I'm not sure if you would appreciate the message...lol. On a serious note, I would recommend Dimmu Borgir...they are symphonic black metal. I live for metal. Of all of them though, I like Symphonic the best, with Hair coming in a distant second. I was a child of the 80's, well, a teenager of the 80's anyway, so I had to list Hair, or Glam, metal. Good luck on your journey!
