His opponent, “Boy Sampson” Rodolfo Luat hailed from the Philippines. He was starting to come into his best game in 93, with recent wins at the Asian 9-Ball Championship and Philippine 9-Ball Open.

This is the first Accu-Stats video I watched with these announcers and they were not respectful to Rodolfo Luat.

Back in the 80s “Boy Samson” Luat was one of the top caliber players, aside from Efren, Parica and Manuel Flores aka “Boy Bicol”. There was a story, Luat broke so hard, it chipped/cracked the cue ball.

yeah yeah yeah I know today's players are so much better with their carbon fiber chopstix, fargo North Dakota whatevers and small pennyless pockets but old school pool is funner to watch. Bring back closed bridges, hand chalk, wood shafts, unpredictable playing conditions, straight pool, 15 ball rotation, 1 Pocket, kicking and forget those awful jump cues.
