Fantastic Job mate! I have been a contractor and building inspector in Canada for 40 plus years and wish l were 20 years younger so l could jump on a plane and find you on a job site so you could show me better than the video can, the finish.. Your camaraderie with the crew reminds me of my younger days on the job. Good life. All the best to you and your crew! Dave

Brilliant, like the way you care about getting every aspect of each stage right. It seems to me that doing lots of little things right ends up giving you a great end result. Most DIY people would panic if the boards don't line up straight away. Thanks for putting up the videos, a great way of giving confidence in the tradespeople you decide to hire. I'm sure people who see this video would have no hesitation in hiring you and your team!

Very well presented pal. I'll be ripping out my old kitchen down to the bricks soon so this has helped no end. Top man.

Being a sparky, from my point of view a dab around the socket boxes stops the socket face plate from pulling in the boards when I second fix, but thanks for the video. Good amount of adhesive going on!

Really enjoying these videos, especially the longer ones. If I may offer a suggestion though, it would be to have some continuity in your titles. Like I watched the videos of you putting the stud wall up in the flat, but then would have liked to see the plasterboarding process and then plastering it, you know to get a sense of the job to completion. Minor gripe I'm sure. Keep up the good work! PS Milk second.

I'm in the states where we attach wood studs to the block wall then attach the drywall to the studs... What is the advantage of doing it this way?
@TommysYardchannel
@TommysYardchannel 8 жыл бұрын
+seephor The air tight seal around the outer edges gives you the fire protection and if the walls arent spot on then this way is meant to save time packing each batten out. I like the wood studs and insulation Technic also though

I was going to ask the same question regarding dabs, I have been told a gauging trowel is more economical way to apply board adhesive ?
@milesy023
@milesy023 7 жыл бұрын
Richard Hindmarsh Use a midget trowel and spike the Dabs so it catches the plaster board better . This guys dabs are to big and he doesn't spike the dabs very good.

Why is it to be rested on Battens/Batons? Can it not be direct to the floor?
@TommysYardchannel
@TommysYardchannel 8 жыл бұрын
+VXSy The reason we put the battens there was because the flow screed was laid afterwards due to time delays in getting those boys in. But even if the floor was laid you would still have to raise the plasterboard up from the floor. This is to avoid any damp issues in the future, plasterboard and moisture arent the best of friends:)
