Tommy Tunnel - Splish Splash Car Wash, St Louis MO

What an awesome system! This was my first time seeing a duel conveyor drive belt (hence my confusion getting in). While the wash seemed well maintained, it had some trouble with the pigeon poop on the top of my car (admittedly, that's hard for any wash to remove), and the rinse at the end left a bit to be desired. Not sure this wash justified the $15 price tag.

Update: This Car Wash blew up and was on fire on Monday Night, January 21st, 2020. They’re finding out how the explosion happened and they might fix this Car Wash. If they put a new system here after they fix this, do you think you could do a revisit here?

Thank you for the shout-out!!! Definitely a good video. Very surprised to see hot wax after the spot-free rinse. Applying hot wax at the end of the tunnel is very common in European car washes, though European car washes usually feature both air dryers and textile dryers (drying brushes) to eliminate excess wax. This is the first time I have seen hot wax at the end of an American tunnel.

SF Car Wash Channel Yeah, the wax at the end didn't work at all with this setup. It just leaves a bunch of spots all over the car. It's a bit silly, but the second-to-the-top wash is probably the best one here because of that.

I like the friction drying in European washes. A trend now taking off here in the US. Sonny's Buff and dry is showing up in more and more washes. Tommy of the equipment in this video just came out with such a module. Although theirs isn't as impressive.

For example, they don't use Euro-style polishing stations and typically American tunnels do not use high-pressure prewash arches, especially after a presoak application. German equipment, particularly that of Holz, seems to be superior to the best American stuff as well

Tommy systems usually have a high-power spotfree rinse. Sadly ive never been in one because there is no Tommy Tunnels in Southeastern PA(where i live).

I actually work at a Tommy's Express Car Wash in my area. Tommy's, along with Quality Car Wash all use the same conveyor system, and their tunnels always consist of the appealing arches and wash equipment. Definitly some of the best car washes out there.

This is definitely an older Tommy set-up (Early 2000's), but has clearly has received some upgrades in the past year like our local Tommy Mini-tunnel (Just filmed it after renovation, please check it out!). Honestly, $15 is outrageous for this shoddy and run of the mill mini-tunnel job. Great video though! I need to look into a two-camera setup!

Car Wash Studios Prices here are crazy, though there isn't much good competition around. Just an old Ryko and a D&S 5000 in the immediate area. I love the dual-camera setup since it makes it much easier/safer to film and drive at the same time.

there's a full service car wash in Rock Springs Wyoming trust me you will be happy every single time they spray down your car before you drive in then there's two people at the other side that dry your car but with hand towels

Overpriced washes are the trend of 2014 to now. Many operators are trying to include is much foam and services to increase dollar per car. I have seen an express wash charge $35 for just an express car wash with a light show and a foaming wax application. Hot wax is also the new trend coming back from the beginning of automated washing.
