After a long wait, the new HOI4 DLC is finally here! NO STEP BACK HAS ARRIVED!
And there's no better way to start than to play Germany, the strongest country in Hearts of Iron 4!
This is what happens when you play Germany in the new HOI4 DLC!
As you all know due to the many HOI4 Dev Diaries videos we did, No Step Back is probably the biggest Hearts of Iron 4 Update and DLC that Paradox has ever released.
The entire HOI4 meta will change because of this patch and its many changes, such as the new tank system, the supply system overhaul that will introduce trains and an actual realistic supply system in a Hearts of Iron game and tons of new focus trees.
There's actually a lot of changes to the military stuff and combat so it's a little hard to name them all, so you will see them all in the video.
And spoiler, No Step Back seems like it's a really good update and DLC.
Tommy enjoyed it a lot so far and it's gonna be super fun to cover the new Soviet Union aka Russia trees.
But there's also some alarming news, there's new achievements.
That means the return of the HOI4 100% Series as well as a hunt for all the new HOI4 achievements.
This all means that Tommy is gonna lose his mind and that we are in for a great journey that will lead to all of us ending up bald and mald.
Well the journey will officially start in the next video so don't be scared yet, we only got a slight taste of the insanity coming back to Tommy's HOI4 Achievement Runs...

The Gibraltar to Singapore achievement is probably the cruelest. It’s not just Invade the world and win the game, you have to have enough infrastructure and industry (Plus loyalty in your occupied territories to stop rebellion) to Build the railway across the world!

@@TommyKay here you go tommy: a quick guide by someone who allready did 'this is going to be LIT' I did it the monarchist way taking over the baltics in 1937 and diplomatically annexing poland in 38. I didnt do it on historical and trotkys failed civil war got most of the red army killed but another guy who got it said that even on historical the red army is a joke with enough 7inf 2art 1aa and superior firepower. On historical you wont avoid war with the USSR so you might aswell start it on your terms. (I too killed stalin with 7-2s) get your cores on belarus and ukraine and do whatever you want with the rest of the USSR. With your estern flank secured its time to fight germany. You can either keep up in the air game rushing fighter 3s thanks to the 100% boost + designers 15% boost + 'connection to the industry' army spirit (20% boost) aswell as 100 factories on fighters. i even had to fight the RAF (monarchist britain) and ~50% air supeority. The other guy simply brute forced his way into berlin, no need to annex them, only walk into berlin, you dont need to defeat them.

@@MeidoInHebun There was some PR bad blood. Tommy has been the biggest Hoi4 content creator for a good while now. But his earlier content was seen as too edgy within the company. This led to him not being considered under the ubrella of paradox content creators, at least officially. Which enraged both him as his community. Both sides certainly have their arguments. But suffice it to say one year ago when CK3 was released Tommy was still being left out of such things as content creator early access and other colaboration agreements that would've certainly benefitted both parties mentioned.

I don't think the German AI has ever reached my cores when playing as the soviet union. There's so much manpower and infantry equipment is so cheap. It's possible to have several full armies of pure infantry divisions with engineers, support aa and artillery when the war starts, at least 4 million men in the field, maybe 5. Then they can never make it through east poland.
