You might like to add a press camera to your collection like the Crown Graphic or the Mamiya Super 23. They give you up to 6x9 format images instead of just the square 6x6 format. The Mamiya Press is noted for the film flatness on its backs.

I love the idea of photographing the image and importing into Lightroom after developing film. I want to try it. I'll have to do some research on that one. Great stuff!

Yet another great video Tommy :-) I have the Canon AE1 35mm which has been sat in a case along with it's lenses for many years now but watching this it's made me want to dig it back out again :-)

canon a-series cams are sure awesome, but they might have "the squeek" when not being used for a while.

Sometime you ought to check out a Fuji GW690 III camera. Purely mechanical, 120 format film, 6X9 frame size, 8 shots per roll. It's a monster, but it's not hard to use at all. It has a coupled rangefinder, and a Voigtländer VC Speed Meter II fits neatly on the accessory shoe.

Hey Tommy! Your videos are great man!!! It's really informative! I'll be traveling and want to take portraits like you did. If I'm traveling by myself, what type of lighting set up do you recommend? I would greatly appreciate if you take the time to please let me know! Any input would be great. Please keep the videos coming. They are great!

thats a big question that could have 1000s of different answers, this purely depends on the situation, especially while travelling, just take a 35mm camera with good metering, and some fast prime lenses, like a 50mm or 85mm.

Great video, I have loads of them as well! What do you think about a Polaroid back for the Hasselblad?
@DanielMelzerPhotography8 жыл бұрын
the images are very small and won´t cover the whole image, polaroid backs for the hassi were made to test the metering to be sure you don´t take 12 shitty pictures. these were (are) used by pros so they don´t waste time with their clients. obviously everyone can shoot them, but if you´re into hd polaroids i suggest you buy a large format camera and get a polaroid back to use old stock or something like new55

Another reason to shoot film, especially for weddings...... Film slides and negatives last over 100 years but can you say that about dvd's or flashdrives? What kind of digital memory systems will they have 100 years from now? Remember Zip drives when they were the cutting edge technology for image storage? I have negatives and prints my relatives took in the early 1900's and they are still good. Kodachrome slides from 1945 unfaded. You also can get into full frame photography for under $100 instead of over $1000. Plus the feel of these vintage cameras is so different than the plastic fantastics. No electronics to go bad or software to upgrade.

Usually, a collector knows something about what he collects. This guy seems less a collector and more of a decorator, choosing his purchases for appearance. And the Rolleiflex does not have an 18mm lens, so I'll assume he's never used it and/or lacks a command of the metric system.
@TommyReynolds895 жыл бұрын
I said 80mm not 18mm ;)
