Most people forget the fact that Big Cheese was the first ever Nirvana song officially released as Love Buzz is a cover. - Tom

I never knew this song was this easy to play. At first I was like "okay Kurt, keeping it simple I see, gonna throw me a curveball though right?" But it just kept it's simplicity. Crazy to think that this song got me hooked and I never learned how to play it

If Nirvana had their way, the flipside of their debut 7-inch would have been whole lot blander. Engineer Jack Endino has said the group originally recorded "Blandest," for their Sub Pop Singles Club B-side. "The song is called 'Blandest' for a reason," the engineer said, because they were disgruntled with the fact that Sub Pop big cheese Jonathan Poneman wanted them to record a cover -- Shocking Blue's "Love Buzz" -- for the A-side. When they were done with the "Blandest" session, they slugged out "Big Cheese," a heavy, hate-filled invective about Poneman ("He was being so judgmental about what we recorded," Cobain said), and the track wowed Endino because it was "livelier." The engineer was able to convince the band to use that as their B-side instead. Equipment used: Fender Jag-Stang, Boss DS-1 and Fender mustang IV amp. Tuning: Standard Lyrics: Big cheese - make me Mine says, "Go [to] the office" Big cheese - make me Mine says, "One that stays" Black is black, straight back Need more enemies Show you all what a man is Need more ememies Big lies - make my Mine says "Go [to] the office" Big cheese - make me Message? What is it? Black is black, straight back Need more enemies She is glue, how are you? Big cheese - make me Mine says "Go [to] the office" Big cheese - make me Message? What is it? Black is black, straight back Need more enemies She is glue, how are you? Black is black, straight back Need more enemies Sure you are, but what am I? Need more enemies She is glue, how are you? Need more enemies Sure you are, but what am I?

Lil Muff Kurt Cobain actually designed that specific guitar model that Tom is using in the video. It’s called the Fender Jag-Stang (because it’s a mix between a jaguar and a mustang). So you are exactly correct. It is a guitar of Cobain.

I think you should create a course teachings us nirvana fans how to play all of these nirvana songs. It can be hard to figure it sometimes from a cover. Then you can link to your course under all your cover videos and make a ton of money.

On the album version does anyone else hear some kind of phasing effect on the guitar during chorus? (Where Kurt sings black is black etc)
@LithiumWV9 жыл бұрын
Hey Tom I just wanted to ask what kind of recording setup you use for your videos? Like what kind of camera and editing software do you use? I really want to start making more videos for my channel and very excited to start doing my own covers. Since I finally have the money and school is out it would be the perfect time to get back into KZbin. Really good Big Cheese cover too, Bleach has to be my favorite Nirvana album!
