Great video thank you for the detailed review! I have used all of these notebooks and most of the same supplies so to see it all laid out like this was absolutely fascinating! Cheers!

Tsukineko Versafine and Ranger Archival are both oil based stamping inks, if you leave them to dry for around 15 minutes they won't smudge, or lift with watercolour, but you can speed that up with a heat gun. I prefer Bristol board, Canson, or Daler Rowney hardback sketchbooks, or a smooth watercolour paper for ink washes and line drawing. I noticed that my Moleskein notebooks are fine for writing and quick line sketches, but if I have lots of cross hatching, or washes I prefer a heavier paper that doesn't warp as much.

Yeah, that's very true!

Cats are cuckoo! Mine always gets in my face when I'm trying to get stuff done at my desk. Whenever I do a pen test, I go to the back left side of the page.

Yes, the back left side of the page is where I go to as well.

My cat loves licking the dried residues from the gluestick I use for my paper crafting. 😄

OMG. Yes, my cats love eating packing tape, licking the mat for my cutting machine and one of my cats eats the stickers that are on bananas. So every time we buy more we have to take them off before she sees them.

I’m using TRC MD atm, but my favourite papers are Midori MD and Tomoe River paper 68gsm. It really depends what I’m writing with, tbh. I don’t love using gel pens on TRP, but rather my fountain pens, but I like to watercolour on Midori MD. Writing on watercolour with fountain pens is not fun. The day I find an ink that doesn’t spread, I’ll be thrilled. 😂

Oh, yes, you are so right! I have not found an ink that would let me write on top of watercolor with a fountain pen.
@SpacemanTheo2 жыл бұрын
@@seemownay unfortunately that will never happen given that using water on fountain pen paper immediately destroys the coating the paper had that allows fountain pen ink to settle and show off its properties and instead, just spreads out the same way the water did. Hopefully this makes sense to you.

Curious how it stacks against watercolor paper.

Yeah, I should try and see how vibrant watercolors show up on these papers in comparison to watercolor paper. However, I was looking for a journal where I would mostly write, so the watercolor paper wasn't even on my radar.

Thank you for your review. 👍💕 I mostly use traveler's company inserts for my planning and daily journaling (foutain pen writing and quick watercolor sketches) and also for my work notes (just foutain pen) and I love the paper. I love seeing the ink shading, no bleed threw and very minimal ghosting, that's my favorite 😊 (dot grid is the best for my taste)

I agree, I think out of the three that I tested in this video, it's the most versatile notebook.

hi would you please share the name of the first book?

Yes, it's this one. Tomoe River Notebook amzn.to/3PQARG9

My preference is always Tomoe River paper 52 gsm. Then second isnTR 68gsm. I love this paper for writing and watercolours. At the moment I’m using an insert with Orchid Paper because I’m trying a new layout and it has just a few pages in it rather than a thick notebook. The orchid paper is very nice but I still prefer TR!

Now I am going to go and search for Orchid Paper. Thanks so much for your comment, Maria!

‚Betonung‘=stress (for syllables), emphasis (ideas, rhetoric). Why the HELL we use the same word for ‚emphasis‘ as for that evil social/workplace pressure that causes early DEATH, i have NO IDEA. 🤷♀️ (i also don‘t get why English is the only language that capitalizes ‚I‘)
