It’s incredible and inspiring for me, I didn’t realize he was playing notes from the chord instead of a typical pentatonic shape all of the time; until you said that. It’s beautiful because this song’s chords are very jazzy or to my ear voiced like that. So when John Mayer solos over it, it doesn’t sound like a typical 12 bar blues or blues chord progression. It sounds very similar but very different. Kuddos to you for dissecting that concept!

Hello sir. I wanted to say that I absolutely love your work. Fantastic video! Anyway i was wondering if you could cover the part of the Any Given Thursday version of this song where about six minutes in, he starts this really hard, technical fingerpicking pattern. I just cant figure it out and I've been listening to the song for about a week now. I know you touched on it in this video. I was just wondering if you could maybe expand on that kind of finger picking pattern. It would mean a lot to me sir. And once again, great job with your work.

I’m extremely interested in John’s dead & co playing style, Jerry Garcia’s style. I know there are a lot of arpeggiated triads (anyone correct me if I’m wrong) but I was wondering if you could do an in depth video of the style. What modes and scales he uses, etc.?
